Nolan has confirmed bad sound mixing in his movies is intentional. He likes it when viewers have to strain to hear and when the sound fx and score drown out the dialogue.
Needless to say, it’s a bizarre and stupid decision.
Only Zac Snyder’s love of 4:3, b&w and slow mo are dumber creative choices.

Yeah I think it's fair to say the Christopher Nolan peak was Dark Knight / Inception / Interstellar. Dunkirk was visually really good but I think a bit of a boring movie and nobody seems to have liked Tenet very much.

My two favorite films of his were Memento and The Prestige. Forget the blockbuster stuff. When he tells deep stories of complex characters, he's amazing.

Insomnia was quite good as well. Pretty sure that was his first big Hollywood film. Pacino and Robin Williams were terrific in that one.

Oh god, I temporarily forgot about Pi. Seriously, if you haven't seen that film you must watch it. So incredible and made with a shoestring budget. Aronofsky FTW!

Started watching Tenant - and while I'm really enjoying it so far, I can't imagine trying to watch in the theatre I don't think there is a movie that I've had to rewind and watch something again so frequently to make sure I know WTF is going on.
The sound mix does also seem really off in some scenes - but I have to think it was a creative choice and not an error.
Okay....I know its just a typo and I'm not busting your balls or anything, I just thought as far as typos go that one is pretty funny.
I'm imagining the film Tenet as a film about a bad tenant in an apartment.
Oh Christopher Nolan....

Army of the Dead was ok, I guess. Expectations should be set accordingly for a Zach Snyder movie. It's too long, there is nothing clever and it's not a heist movie really.
Oh also if you are watching on a 4K TV those dead pixels are in the movie, not on your TV.
I watched Tenant in theatres when it came out and then again at home recently. I didn't really enjoy it either time. It's a beautiful movie, well except for the final battle in the sand pit. But I don't find it an enjoyable watch. There is far too much time as the viewer when you are in the zone of "I don't have enough information to know what's going on or to care." Tenet just didn't hit the mark it was aiming for. Agree with everyone here about the sound mixing and the dialogue being hard to hear. I thought it was easier at home with my 5.1 setup. Saw it originally in IMAX and the score and sound effects blared over the audio. Really hard to understand why Nolan does this.
I like most of this movies. Memento, Insomnia, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception and Dunkirk I think are great. The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar are pretty good. I don't really care for Batman Begins and Tenet.

Lol there are so many bizarre visual choices in the film. I guess this is what happens when Snyder doesn't have a studio reign it in and is his own Director of Photography.
At least half of the movie feels like you're squinting at the TV because of the excruciating overuse of Depth of Field effects.

Yeah the depth of field didn't bother me too much, except when they held on it. It's annoying to look at a completely out of focus screen for 3-5 seconds. Not sure what purpose that is suppose to serve.
No it wasn't complete dog crap, agreed. I have been judging/rating of lot movies recently with the mindset of would I watch this again? I would consider watching this again if it wasn't 2.5 hours. No way this movie should have gone past the 2 hour mark.

Thank you! I almost went into a rage when my wife pointed it out.

That's on purpose?
God I can't stand that. I have trouble hearing in one ear and absolutely cannot hear two things at once, like listening to music and talking to someone and the same time is impossible for me.
No wonder I have to watch his movies with subtitles
