It appears that Tavares may have suffered a knee injury as well along with the concussion with how the trainer's handled him while trying to lay him on his back.

Hopefully there's not blame going on here for the trainer.
Tavares was clearly trying to stand while the trainer was telling him (rightly so) not to cuz what usually happens is exactly what happened....he had no legs. Wobbly McWobblerson. As someone who's actually been KO'd through my background in MMA, the last thing you should do is try and get up. I saw the video and the way his leg bent, i squirmed a bit hoping it didnt hurt his knee but I guess thats what happened.

Yeah my immediate reaction was that the trainer messed up by letting him get up, but I suppose there's not much 1 guy could do while also trying to stabilize his neck. Really they needed a team to both keep his neck secure but also keeping him safe on the ice.

Oh yeah, I'm sure that was the case.
A concussed hockey player is probably going to try and stand up. Like I said, I'm sure it's an impossible task for one trainer because a player trying to sit up while having someone force them to stay on the ice is more likely to strain their neck, which could be extremely vulnerable given the collision.
