Barring permanent LTIR or for-cause contract termination, I am curious to see how this could be done.

Maybe play him for 3 more years and then see anyone bites when he only has 2 years left. At that point, it might be possible to trade him with retained cap.

I honestly have no clue how it will happen at the moment, but you cannot have a $10 million back up and hope to field a competitive team long-term. Knight will be the starter possibly even by the end of next year.

Ugh...another goal where Bob had zero chance. Panthers' PK has been abysmal in this series.

It's been this team's achilles heel for some time. That's why they got Gudas and Stralman. Ekblad being out hurts them a lot in that regard. Nutivaara is NOT good in front of the net.

Well goalies save breakaway shots all the time, and Vasilevsky made a save the same period on a deflected shot. A 2-1 game is completely different in complexion to a 3-1 game.

Nevertheless, the Panthers' needed a little more resolve in the 2nd period. Bob not all to blame for what happened after but he didn't give them much of a chance through 20, especially for a 10 mil $ goalie

Shot placement and what the shooter does has a lot to do with it

Goalie plays the shot, not the deflection. Some deflections hit the goalie elsewhere

Killorn was literally just standing there with his stick on the ice and not one Panther anywhere even near him let alone making his life difficult.

I think what they should do is have Bob and Knight play three seasons together, and then bid Bob farewell once Knight needs a new contract.

That, or maybe just try and find a way where you trade Bob for one of San Jose’s albatross D contracts (Vlasic/Burns/Karlsson).

He's 18 out of 19 goalies for save % in the playoffs, maybe he's last now. We can surmise he's not as playing well as the average goalie.

Glad the refs are finally calling Tampa for the unnecessary dirt. Of course, it took the game to get to 5-1 for them to do it, but at least they are punishing them for it. First time all series.
