Reguilon, along with Ndombele, Bergwijn, LoCelso, Sessengnon, Aurier, Doherty were expensive signings that were going to rejuvenate this team. Every single one of them has disappointed.
Many Spurs fans scream about Daniel Levy's cheapness, but that's not the problem. The team spent a lot of money over the past 2 years and bought a bunch of glorified scrubs. It's not a matter of spending, it's a matter of spending well.
With Kane leaving, I think that this team needs to be gutted. Thinking 10th next season.
Majority of those were brought in under Mourinho. Let's maybe wait and see what a competent manager can do with them.

Spurs aren’t beating Leicester this weekend, which means we hopefully see a Brighton win and Everton win. I don’t want any part of the Conference, and I’m good with an 8th place finish in that regard. I know you want your team playing in Europe, but the truth is plenty of teams have benefitted from not having those extra games, and it’s one thing when you’re talking about CL, but two rungs below? That just seems dreadful all around.
Potter is the name that keeps coming up, and although I’d like like to see someone else, he could at least beat Arsenal this weekend.

I dont even think any but the two rightbacks have been disappointments
Sessegnon was 20 until today and had a good loan in germany
Reguilon has been very good, our best left back since peak danny rose 5 years ago, saw there is concern at the club that now with zidane gone at madrid they might actually trigger the buyback
Bergwjin really got the Mourinho shaft, he barely played and when he did it was as a defensive winger, today was his first time in 14 months he was played as an attacker basically
Ndombele got Mourinho'd last season but was very good this year, also in much better shape to be fair, lo celso was injured a lot but when he played he did this
The athletic spurs writer and ali gold have both said the key to the new manager is fitting lo celso and ndombele in the same lineup
Also to girlys post
Kane's not leaving, covid transfer market makes it almost impossinle this summer, I'd say its 5%. Next summer when more teams, especially madrid and psg, have the money to buy a player for 100m+, I think if hes still looking to leave it's possible. But right now its city or no one, and city know it, wo not only wont they pay the probably 120m+ it would take,mi have doubts they would even pay it for haaland who is 7 years younger, for all citys spending, they've never set a transfer record and that's a big deal to them.
It's also a very young core suad besides kane, lloris and son. So gutting the team doesnt make any sense at all

Romano says it's down to 3 candidates and should be finalized soon
Most seem to think its ten Haag, Rangnick, and potter
That's probably my preferred order too, but I'd be good with any
Would love Rangnick as dof with ten Haag as coach

I really want Rangnick as director of football and from there a good progressive coach in that mould. I read somewhere that someone suggested Flick as coach and Rangnick DoF. I could handle that, but it seems unlikely.
Bottom line for me is that we need a proper DoF though. To me the transfer policy has been questionable for years. There were a couple times we were close and seemingly a good player or two away. That’s no longer the case (IMO). We need to rebuild the back line and make the midfield work. The midfield has been a glaring issue and while I was pleasantly surprised with the impact of PEH, it wasn’t enough. Even today he got the yellow and there’s no one else who can come on for him. There’s no one to shift into his role and we’re basically stuck. (I would’ve brought on Rodon in his place and pushed Dier forward, but I didn’t look to see if he was on the bench today).
Anyway, I digress, we need a DoF. I hope it’s Rangnick, but he’s free and I hoped we do that quickly so her could properly prepare.

Yeah, it seems fairly common knowledge that that ship has sailed.
Low is going to manage Germany through the Euros and Flick has already told Bayern that he's not coming back because after the Euros he's likely taking over the German National Team.
It seems he was always going to, it just seemed that he was waiting for Low to decide to move on or for the DFB to can him, but it seems that Flick was always the natural next choice.
Flick had a really good run with Bayern.

Like Locke said hes going to germany, I dont think flick is even an option if he had wanted a new club, he could go anywhere he wants
In terms of the midfield I think its actually the most settled group we have
Hojberg
Ndombele
Lo Celso
Dele
Sissoko
Winks
Is basically where it's at now, I'd love to get value for winks and sissoko this summer, but I could see both staying as depth anyway, especially if the conference league happens.
The player most likely to be able to play as the dm next year is oliver skipp, who was on loan at Norwich and made the championship team of the season

Ya, I saw some stories today about barca and maybe juve making a run, but I dont think he would choose to leave bayern for another club job at this point

No. It's a matter of spending and Levy doesn't like to do it.
They had a very good team a few seasons back where a couple of signings could have kept their momentum at the top of the pack. Instead he cheaped out lacking the foresight to see that to compete in Europe and the league was a squad game.
You say 2 years. Let's do 4. I estimate that they've probably shelled out ~ 140M UK Sterling over those 4 seasons for a miserable 35/season at a time when the other teams were weak and the opportunity was there for them to win trophies.
He doesn't get the fan aspect. He's detached from them. Last night was prime example. Spurs fans paid by far the most of any supporter returning to stadiums after a year. Burnley, in contrast, I believe let theirs in free.
And what does Levy have them do at 60 quid a ticket? Have them sit way up on the upper tiers detached from the action in order to maintain his lower tier advertising. On the same day that he pens a letter to them saying that they have lost sight of what's in their DNA.
Levy for me has always been one of the main issues holding Spurs back unless you're looking at net spend trophies. I honestly don't believe he's totally invested in winning. Seems like a great businessman but not that great regarding the football side of things.

Yes, Winks and Sissoko should be sold. I don't think they have much use at the club now, especially with Skipp likely to get more time on the pitch.
How do you manage Tanguy, gio, Dele is another thing - more so Tanguy and Gio as i dont see them as true Number 10's like Dele.
Perhaps a 4-3-3 with PEH, Tanguy, and Gio? I dont see either of those guys being a consistent DM
No. It's a matter of spending and Levy doesn't like to do it.

Pains me to agree with you. Having the fans pay that much and to sit that far up was just deplorable.
I think that my frustration lies in the recruiting in general. the year we sold Walker to City there was talk of us getting Sancho...but City wouldn't sell to us. Then we have names like Maddison, Ziyech, Fernandes, Grealish, and the list just goes on and on that we were apparently in on at one point and didn't close the deal. I'm sure there are more that just escape me right now...but it's just the usual penny pinching and sticking with the also-ran to save a few bucks.
I am 99% sure they sat up high so he could keep the sponsors tarps on the lower sections for extra $. It's really pathetic, that plus the 60£ per ticket maybe got them up to almost a million quid, which is a drop in the bucket in terms of revenue and all it did was add more fire to the flames already burning inside the fanbase.
While the difference in quality is noticeable, there is nothing better than seeing these guys grind it out for a promotion. Dazn has League 1 as well as Championship playoffs.
Hoping for a Brenford come back. Would love to see them up in the EPL.

Yeah. Tranmere lost

Really don't get what Kane is trying to achieve with the interview with Neville unless it is to deliberately create instability at the club and force Levy's hand.
Not impressed with the way he's handling all this. Pogba has been (rightfully) chastised for saying less.
