I was down in Sydney last week, and I was smashing Edmonton to a few investment people. It always gets brought up because I'm clearly Canadian when I open my mouth, and a few of them had been to the Rockies (Van/Banff/Calgary). The one guy's brother was a fancy researcher at the UofA even and he was able to support my position when I informed them that Edmonton is the land of half ideas. A wreck of a city council left them with half an LRT, half a downtown, and six halves of a mall. I then leave it at to let the idea grow in their mind.

No way this doesn't work out, and they end up putting these 2 back together again.....

won't McDavid just have another fit and force them back together since all he cares about is racking up his own points?

What happened to the great Yamamoto? 11G 26P last year in 27 games. This year:
8G 21P in 52 games. Lucic had more.

Now they want production from others. I guess we will see how it goes

Just snakebit right now. Playing great. Still tenacious on the puck, and still getting chances, just nothing working. Stick breaks, misses net, fluke saves. It’s at the point where it’s almost funny, and he might need to sacrifice a goat to the hockey gods.

Didn't he have a 25% shooting percentage last year?

Yes, that was his normal phase and this is his prolonged snakebit phase. He is currently up at around 80% stick breaks/shot which should normalize soon.

Or the fact he's just NG is the real story.
On another note, here's the number of forwards playoff favourites have with over 0.67 points per game this year.
Favourites: Boston 4, Carolina 6, Colorado 4, Florida 5, Pittsburgh 6, Tampa Bay 3, Toronto 5, Vegas 5, Washington 5
The rest: Minnesota 3, Montreal 2, Nashville 1, New York 2, St. Louis 3
Winnipeg 5
Edmonton 2

Coaching and goaltending. That’s what this comes down to. If Maurice can coach his team to defend well against the two good players of Edmonton, without taking a lot of penalties, and if Hellebuyck outplays Smith, which he certainly is capable of doing, Winnipeg’s greater depth should win out.

There's always a chance even for a depleted Jets team when Stink-Eye Mike the Grumpy Wanderer is minding the cage.

I always wonder how players feel when they don’t get their bonus targets because the minus twins are playing 30 minutes a night and padding their own stats for personal awards.

Aww, that’s cute. They made the oilers hoodies to wear that says ‘Oilers, NHL playoffs’. A monumentous occasion, like when most other teams get shirts or hats when they win the conference or the Stanley cup.
