Players are going to play hard, regardless of who is in the lineup, you'd think. I'd like to see the org shift to giving the young guys an opportunity and playing them big minutes, vs. starting your star goalie 3 of the last 4 games, giving Gio and Johnny 20+ minutes of ice, their is a difference between outright tanking and giving minutes to what you hope is the future.

And before anybody says we need our core to put up points to increase value, the padded stats these guys have accumulated amount to very little. We aren't the only people who know our cores tendency to disappear in crunch time and the decline in overall production.

Its not like they went from 1 overall to 11 over these last 4 games

Its a couple spots in a crapshoot of a draft. Canucks have played Demko twice.

I don't understand this perspective. No way would I follow any team if I was convinced that only championship season had any value.

Although I think every teams mindset should be championship or bust, the Flames have been past the first round twice in 30 years! Flames fans shouldn't be throwing shade organizationally at a team like the Sabres, considering the ineptitude of our organization. We are averaging 1 playoff round win every 8 years in the last 32 year.

I did not say it would, however each drop in positioning is significant even by the slimmest of margins, it not only gives another team the power to force your decision, it subsequently drops your positioning in every round of the draft. Giordano played 26:15, 27:00, 24:22 and 22:54 the last 4 games, Gaudreau around 20 min the last 4. For what? Building a "winning" culture? That sure has got us far over the years. Doesn't make any sense.

I don’t have any complaints about what I saw and you can tell he has a bit of chemistry with Ruzicka.

Hopefully he can earn more opportunity next season.

Excuse me? Tranny has been around since the inception of this place. He's provided more content and insight over the last 25 years than most of you clowns will ever come up with. Show some respect to the site's elders. He may not be prolific like he used to be, none of us old guys are, because of the banality and hot takes from you young "smart guys." It just isn't worth the keystrokes at times. Just wait until the tables are turned. Can't wait to see you yelling "stay off my lawn" at the next young pups who have more enthusiasm than they do brains.

Just as in everything else, value that was provided in the past is just that... in the past. People don't deserve respect just because they've been around a long time. The whole "show respect to your elders" nonsense is laughable. People who deserve respect get respect. I don't care how old people are. If they're a dirtbag, they're a dirtbag. Being an old dirtbag doesn't change that.

To be fair to Transplant though he's is a decent poster that has provided lots of insight over the years, but I think Scorp takes too much flak on this site and over recent years has been one of the most valuable contributors to this site. The hate he gets is ridiculous and it's getting to the point where people will hate on anything he says just because it's him. So telling him to grow up and talking down to him like a child deserved to be called out.

Yes, Scorp takes a lot of #### on this site, and at times, unwarranted. He also gets lots of praise and encouragement to continue pushing hard in pursuit of his career goals. He get's advice from time-to-time that he all too often ignores. He rides that edge of that thin line and owns it. So yes, Scorp gets a lot of #### because he sets himself up to take a lot of ####. Just like a lot of us.

Thank you for acknowledging Tranny's contributions. He and I may not always agree, but Tranny and I have a begrudging respect for each other over years of wars and, dare I say, almost a friendship. I stick up for my friends, especially when they're right.

Now I'm not sure if it's a millennial thing, but being told to grown up is hilarious to me and just a putdown. Maybe because I'm old as dirt. Like, Deluxe Moustache drops that #### all the time, and every time he does I laugh my ass off. It's such a lame putdown and really doesn't mean anything. You think it's talking down to someone, I think it's an anachronism from the 1940s that makes you look ridiculous. Tranny using it laugh, because it does betray his advanced years, and instead of him not just coming right out and saying STFU and think about what you've said in the past, he instead used an old folksy putdown.

Nope. What I said was "I can't believe he missed that." He's a skilled player. He had a gimme staring him in the face. This is an automatic for a player that has been built up to be an NHL skill player. Was ready to cheer for a young guy getting his first in the Flaming C.
