Sure, but then everyone should be putting up numbers. They aren't.

The contract situation is a concern, but only because of $$.

As a player though, he will do what he has always done. for more than the abberation the first half of this season was.

It boggles me how much people have turned on this guy in such a short time.

He is a great NHL player. Top 50 in the entire league offensively since he entered, 6th among LW's and that is with this anchor of a season included.

Then add in all the intangibles. Dude is upper tier.

Are we really going to give up assets to make sure we retain a 38 year old? I hope not.
The only way I get behind that is if it means they take Lucic. I will be furious if they pay futures so the Kraken can take Kylington

Looks like Flames are going to draft 13th. Can't get anything right. #### off.

12th unless Chicago, NY or Philly wins the lottery.

Yeah, it is absolutely to the team's benefit moving forward that the Kraken take Giordano or Lucic.

Shedding expensive post-apex contracts even if they still are providing some value is how you give yourself the best chance to construct a good team in 3-5 years. That 5-6 million of flexibility pays dividends.

Giordano or Lucic playing out their contacts will absolutely hamper the team cap-wise into their final seasons.

Since they could only move up 10 spots, the best they can get is 3rd. They will presumably be 13th in respect to the lottery draw.

Yes 13th. But I don’t think that 10 spot rule applies until next year.

As a management group - why would you not just scratch all your top players? What sense does any of this make? What ####ing pride are these clowns playing for? They should have played for it a month ago.

Fire everyone.

Correct. They can still draft 1st or 2nd. Only new rule for this year is the reduction from 3 lottery picks to 2.

I thought that rule doesn't go into effect until 2022?

I'm more concerned that the fire seems to be gone. Ever since the Muzzin incident, the scrums, the agitation is gone.

The puck skills I'm not worried about.

I didn't turn on him, because even after last season, his contract worried me. I've always been concerned with his skating and committing an $8 million plus long term contract to a guy who can't skate.

He could still evolve into Mark Stone so if he can pick up his defensive game, then that big contract won't be that bad. But I want to see more from him. I need to see that ####disturber back and I need to see the improvement on the defensive side before I'd want to commit to a big contract.

Treliving calling the flames “a corps……uhhh carcass” and says investigation starts tomorrow about what went wrong.

Shouldn’t this have been underway for months at least including prior to the trade deadline? I lose faith in this GM the more I hear him speak.

I guess it’s the process.

It is noteworthy that he has come out of hiding. Despite how you feel about him (you are not a fan I gather, I have soured as well) it gives the impression he is sticking around
