Looks like we are going to win this game. So we might as well win 10-0 and pad everyone's stats.

I don't know if it's the "4" and "1" on the back of his jersey, but Phillips looks like Fleury in that vintage jersey.

Looked like mini Tkachuk in the game with his mouthpiece dangling.

Did I hear Rick Ball say that Phillips played in the WHL for the "Victoria Salsa"?

What was that?

Has the same amount of 5v5 goals as Pasternak, Mark Stone, Brayden Point and Ovechkin. Crazy underrated.

The Junior A Victoria Grizzlies used to be the Salsa but they changed the name back in 2006.

ETA - there was a Phillips on that team. Maybe Ball was talking about his dad?

EETA: Mark Phillips from Calgary, born 1975, played for the Salsa 1994-95.

Rick Ball is from BC right? Maybe he used to call Salsa games.

I'm not subscribed to Evolving Hockey, who is the only source I know that has those rankings, but on February 11th, Mangiapane ranked 1st in the entire NHL among all skaters by a significant margin.

1. Andrew Mangiapane 0.416
2. Cale Makar 0.386
3. Connor McDavid 0.382

Mangiapane is kinda okay at the game of hockey

Yet some Flames fans don't think they can be a successful team with Mangiapane in the top 6 lmao

And after his goal in the first, he now has more

They have to take 3. Drieger, Allen and who?

Money is on Holtby.

The goal of this type of analysis (APM/RAPM) is to isolate a given player’s contribution while on the ice independent of all factors that we can account for. Put simply, this allows us to better measure the individual performance of a given player in an environment where many factors can impact their raw results.

rate adjusted plus minus, basically taking a huge dataset of what happens on the ice over thousands of minutes and isolating individual impacts based on shots, goals, assists, etc

Just getting settled on the couch after work.

It's a rare occurance I get to watch the Flameson my birthday, let alone at a reasonable non-10/11pm hour. Seeing they're up 3-0 after one is icing on the (birthday) cake!

Go Flames Go
