Possible, but improbable.
Hard to believe that the SC champs are going to lose 4 of the next 5 games against a franchise that has not won a playoff series in 25 years.

Winning any playoff series is a tall task. One game at a time, keep cleaning things up (especially the PK), and get the bounces.

God, Tampa is a such a boring story, complete with bull**** moves. I really hope they don't cruise to another Stanley Cup, but I think it's trending that way.

I don't think the 2011 or 1999 Panthers have anything to do with the 2021 Panthers.
The only real playoff series this core has participated in was 2016 against the Islanders, and even that was a pretty different roster, coaching staff, etc.

I have fat fingers...they would need to win 4 of 5 with Tampa having home ice. Very unlikely.

To clarify, very very few Panther players have experienced playoff success.
Tampa Bay, not so much.

If the doofuses up north were smart they would put McDoofus himself on ltir next year and try to sign someone that would help them make the playoffs without him. Too bad he's all about padding the regular season stats.

I just think the Lightning are really good and they play smart. The shots were pretty even tonight but I didn't think the Panthers had great chances and the Lightning play well in their own end.
Tampa did get away with a couple pretty blatant non calls, Stamkos with the hold at the end there and the roughing on Duclair earlier that didn't get called, should have been a penalty.
Big deficit for Florida to come back from though.

Everything about the Flames is constantly brought up on a Calgary Flames forum.
And as fans, we've suffered because of our playoff history.
That really has no bearing on predicting the on-ice product.

Flames playoff history is brought up because they are a bunch of choke artists. Panthers teams have never been really good or stacked.

Game 1 Florida is the better team, 10 minutes away from the win, and Bennett takes the bad penalty swinging momentum Tampa’s way after they capitalize on the PP.
Tampa wins game 1 late. Bennett gets suspended. And Tampa wins game 2-0 and are Now up 2-0 going back home.
I do wonder how different the series looks if Bennett doesn’t take that penalty and Florida win game 1.

The bad comes with the good. Is FLA even up 4-3 under 10 mins w/o Bennett? Maybe, maybe not.

They have been good enough they should have more than 3 playoff appearances in 20 years. Zero series wins since drafting their big boys.
Panthers have done their fair share of choking...they can start to turn it around in game three. An actual must win.
