They suck, but Ritchie and Nordstrom give it their all. Both guys have put their health on the line for this team.

As for Nesterov and Simon. I don't know, like I said, maybe they are good pros in the dressing room. Maybe Simon hasn't pouted at all while not getting a sniff of a game since Sutter arrived. Maybe both guys are working hard in practice.

We don't know what's going on in practice or in the locker room. Sutter is giving little tidbits of information and insight into what he is seeing.

I know you are upset about the Phillips thing, but maybe in Sutter's eyes, he doesn't think that Phillips earned an NHL game with the stats that he put up. Maybe he expects more from Phillips? Maybe Sutter should have watched some Heat games and saw what you saw?

There's lots that we don't know. What we do know is that this is a decorated and experienced NHL head coach and this team has a really bad culture. These are two facts. The rest is just guesswork.

The word "entitlement" from Sutter is pretty telling, and not at all surprising. The culture within this group is rotten and Sutter is doing what he can to try and change it, which is a massive task. Once bad culture seeps into a group it's so hard to remove it. He sees Valimaki and Dube as future key pieces of this team and wants nothing of the current culture being carried forward by them. At least that's how I see it from his perspective.

Jamie Pringle is nicknamed Chips according to Cassie

I learned something today. But wasn’t really surprised

Everybody with the last name Campbell in hockey is likely called Soupy. I wonder if Cassie was

Mangiapane who has worked his ass off has been rewarded how? powerplay 2? Playing with Nordstrom and Backlund? Lol. Or maybe it's getting nickle and dimed on his contract.

On any other team Mangiapane is a 30 goal scorer and setting up his one timer is the focal point of his team's powerplay. On this team he's "a decent middle sizer on a checking line"

That's a whole lot of hyperbole. And the time honored CP tradition of focusing blame on coach continues.

Ha I'm the last guy to blame the coach.
Nor did I call this a trainwreck organization. Please do not put words in my mouth.

I view Sutter as
- A win now coach
- A coach who largely goes with vets
- A coach who certain players do well under and others don't.

I don't know if he's the right guy for where this franchise is.

I'm not worked up about the lineup decisions. But I'm surprised people are surprised at them, as I don't view it shocking at all based on Sutter and his past behaviors.

You can't be serious

I like the player but there are some good teams out there...hopefully he grows into that role

I like that Mackey has this edge to his game, I didn't think that was supposed to be the case.

If Pearson doesn't try to jump out of the way of that hit at the last second, it's a nothing play but he put himself in a worse position.

Mackey doing what he can to leave an impression.
He had no fights in the NCAA and just one for the Heat.
Now has fights in back to back games.

Sutter has stated that he is trying to work out the sense of entitlement that is a big cause of the problems on this team and you are saying Mangiapane is entitled to walk right onto PP1 as a focal point.

Why are you putting words in my mouth? I never said any of this. Don't get upset about an argument I never made.

I'm just saying that if it's true that so many of our AHL prospects have poor work ethic, then maybe something systemic actually is the cause.

He is also saying they should have met the demands of a player coming off a 13 point season

I am saying the best goalscorer, AND hardest worker on this team for the two or three years and has earned a lot more opportunity than he has gotten.

He’s the best even strength goal scorer this year. He certainly wasn’t the 2 seasons before. He’s gradually been given more and more responsibility and has responded well. In fact, one might say he’s a story of the Flames actually successfully developing a player (so far).

I'm not putting words in your mouth Jiri. Look at post #11.

You quoted "trainwreck organization" and your response was "you get this with Sutter".

Didn't sound like you were objecting to that characterization and I took it as in fact further stoking of this anti coach rhetoric.
