My current totally true theory is the Flames threw making the playoffs so the league could start the playoffs earlier, and in return they get a lottery pick.

Really sick of people around here acting like Johnny Gaudreau has been the problem this year. Not his fault Sutter stapled Brett Ritchie to him in a critical month.

This is a joke right? You do realize Gaudreau has sucked for way longer than being stapled with Ritchie right? Where was Gaudreau for most of last season.. or in the playoffs.. or before being stapled with Ritchie this year.

For me, it was Monahan neutering the Gaudreau line, and Giordano/Andersson being really bad is what killed us. We really only had one effective defense pairing.

Gaudreau doesn’t need to be coddled
There’s not a player on this team that couldn’t be better, there’s no need to blame others for any players individual performance

He was putting up points before and since the Ritchie incident. It's amazing he's still 1 point off the team lead given he scored 1 even strength point in almost a month.
