huh, good to know. from the outside A&P looks like boilerplate chinesewestern takeout, and the overall google reviews are similarly unimpressive. but sorting the reviews by recency looks more positive as the bulk of them appear to be very satisfied customers.
might give em a try sometime. any specific dish recommendations?

LOL, I should have given some context... I have 4 young kids, so I can't recommend much beyond ginger beef and sweet and sour pork, but for those, A&P is tops

also on the west side, Prairie Donair has some really tasty meat and sauce combinations. but they are currently understaffed and haven't worked out the assembly line efficiency of places like Jerusalem Shawarma yet, so if you go in the next little while, be prepared to wait.
this might even have worked to my advantage strangely, as the cook got distracted while my beef was on the grill, so it got extra crispy/charred on the outside and was even better. I might specifically ask for it to be done that way next time.

Solid suggestion. Went in for a chicken & rice bowl and apparently they had run out of rice. Went with the boneless thighs (soy garlic) instead and he threw in some free fries for the hassle. They were delicious.
Will definitely go back.

Good news westsiders, the Myung Ga fried chicken is high quality stuff. And the ability to order the chicken alongside traditional Korean dishes just makes the experience that much more complete.
If you still haven’t figured out dinner yet, put that order in!

Has anyone had the opportunity to stop in at either of the two locations here in Calgary?

There’s better sandwich options close by but I’ll probably go back to try more of the menu.

The wife and I found the Philly Cheesesteak, and now we have the double stack every time we go to Meltwich. It's not good that they are only a few blocks from us. We enjoy their poutines as well. We find the quality of both to be above the average fast food fare.

Burger was really good. Some of our food suffered from the delivery process where stuff cooled off, but I think it will be a great addition to the West End food scene.

Enjoyed being back at a restaurant last night (and it seemed all patios were full).

Especially good - Butter Leaf Wraps, Seared Beef Skillet, Apple + Walnut Salad (maple vinaigrette subbed for buttermilk dressing). Mai Tai, and Dirty Laundry Hush Rose (BC).

Sitting on the patio at Selkirk (Heritage Park) now. They now have gluten free and keto buns for those who care.

Apologies if already posted earlier but recently heard that Modern Steak is going into the old Moxie's across from the Earl's in Willow Park.

How is it there...I've never tried it, but it looks good. It's like the Big Rock one, right?

No, not the Big Rock but right next to it. It is not fantastic, but nice patio, good food, moderate pricing.

Just saw that Von Der Fel's is closing at the end of July. What a shame.
This spot, through several chef iterations has been pumping out unique food that has most always been superb and won them Canada wide recognition.
They tried to mobilize through the pandemic and thought they would survive. Sad to lose this place which has been a door into another place in the world in YYC for sometime.

The liquor store in the mall has Kloud/ Korean beer and other Japanese beers. Make it a perfect meal.
