No reason to play stone anymore. Throw Gio on the right side if you need to and play Valimaki. He certainly needs the work.

This type of team. The type of team that is always sitting comfortably in mediocrity. We have to get Ritchie, Leivo, Ryan, and Backlund their reps in.

This is just dumb. I have no idea why this organization is so pig headed. There is literally no point in playing the entire top line and Gio and or Tanev should alternate games.

I have a feeling Ruzicka will be given the Bennett treatment if he even plays. Eliminated from playoff contention and they still cannot play their young players.

Backlund doesn't deserve the hate he gets. He consistently makes his linemates better, gets tasked with hard assignments where it makes it more difficult to produce, and never complains.



Everyone else? Yes, I would rather see them rotated out and have some young players take their spots to finish-off the season, absolutely.

At this point nothing matters. And it's not like Sutter can't mix up the lines on the fly in game. I'm sure he has some ideas he wants to tinker around with.

I'm no Treliving apologist but this is probably being driven by Darryl. This is the be careful what you ask for aspect of bringing a guy like him back.

Mackey, Valimaki in instead of Nesterov and Stone

Why is Sutter so anti youth? The season is done, you've been officially eliminated. You don't need to play the older scrubs that shouldn't have been on the team in the first place, and his place as a coach is secured, so he's not fighting for his job. Nothing to lose, something to gain by seeing what all the kids have for the remaining stretch.

I'd say no need to play Gio or Tanev - why risk injuries to older key players when winning is not a priority. Maybe we could lose Gio to Seattle, but if we didn't, we'd want those two players healthy next year.

Does Sutter even have Phillips as an option at this point? Granted, he might have said he isn't going to play him anyways but Treliving has to call him up before the coach can put him anywhere.

Knowing that both Sutter and the Flames can finish above .500 for the season (not that it means much anymore), I'd also be surprised if they did anything other than try hard to win 4 straight. The limit is probably that they won't ask anyone to play through an injury, but beyond that they are going for it.
