With his goal tonight, Mikael Backlund has moved into a tie with Sean Monahan at 28 points apiece. Backlund has 5 fewer points on the powerplay though.

Not just Francis. The last question I am pretty sure he was being sarcastic but it was kind of hard to tell. Pretty hilarious interview though.

Jumped down 5 positions in the lottery with the win today. Sigh. Another middling draft pick awaits.

That was so cringey listening to Francis squirm there. Stupid question and then he goes into explaining it more as if Sutter didn't get it. He got, it just wasn't an intelligent question Eric.

Yeah but opposing GMs were watching and the trade value of our core players is rising by the minute with efforts like that. Lol

Not to mention how important wins like that will be for the culture of the team for years to come. Amirite?

Eric Francis is genuinely painful to listen to and I have no idea why he is still being paid by anyone to cover this team.

It’s time to cut him loose already.

And I say this as someone who tends to be pretty forgiving of our local sports media.

Lol for #### sakes is this media trying to drive Sutter out of town?

“Oh it’s doubtful I’ll watch any more hockey games for the rest of the year.”

So good.

The odds of us losing all these 5 games was pretty slim so everyone crying about the win need to keep things in perspective.

We already lost 2 in a row so closing out the season with 7 straight loses seems unlikely.

Now the pressure is in on Montreal to get a point in two games, if they do dress a bunch of youngsters, if they don’t we have something to play for.

Frankly, as much as Francis is...well, he's Francis.

But Darryl. Some of us dont want you to win 'now.' You see, you missed that key qualifier.

If you hadnt been the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked all year then maybe 'some people's' tune would be different.

But at the moment, Montreal is going to need to be hit by a meteor for this team to make the playoffs. I'm talking 'Biblical Miracle' kind of stuff.

Now tell me...whose fault do you think that is?

I dont think Darryl or anyone on the Flames have the right to disparage fans for being disappointed with this season's absolutely pathetic display.

If he wants to play the 'Blame Game' thats fine, but unfortunately for him....it's not his turn.

I'll always cheer for a Flames win. And what a great effort and result. Didn't want the Sens turning into another Anaheim.
