Buchnevich was taking his own revenge so they threw him out. Took a high shot at Mantha. Mantha's fine but it looked pretty hard.

Buchnevich is lucky the refs stepped in, I think Mantha would have beat him down there.

He’s also lucky they stepped in earlier when Chara went for him.

Yeah, you could argue that Parros was thinking that even if he suspends Wilson, the Rangers will just get him next season and this gets dragged out, but knowing how Quinn likes a pansy soft ass team, I think if the NHL "enforced" it, the Rangers wouldn't have taken things into their own hands.

I mean look at the Rangers fighters, none of them should be fighting. They pretty much lost every fight.

The Rangers got rid of their two toughest guys this season in Deangelo and Lemieux, that coach does not like the rough stuff. THe NHL should have stepped up and put an end to this with a suspension. They better hope no one on the Rangers goes all Mcsorley on a Capital.

Did Tom Wilson win or lose his fight?

He won. Brendan Smith isn't that tough.

I think it should be OK. There have been at least a dozen moments where a Ranger had a chance to really take a hard run at one of the Caps players in a situation where the legality would have been borderline, and it hasn't happened. Orlov just had a puck out in front of him and reached for it with a blue shirt bearing down on him, and instead of lining him up he just took the puck.

I never watch the Rangers but tuned in for tonight. They are incredibly soft. They don't even seem to finish checks much. I know the game has changed but If I was putting a team together I wouldn't be comfortable icing a team that basically has no physical side.

Mantha was tracking him the whole shift.

Mantha slashes Buchnevich as Buchnevich crossed the offensive blue line. Buchnevich hits Mantha cleanly at the defensive blue line. Mantha then tracks Buchnevich and slashes him twice from behind, and then when the Mantha slashing penalty gets called, Mantha turns around and comes at Buchnevich. Buchnevich did the right thing, and I wish he would have connected better and taken some teeth from Mantha.

The way the refs are calling this game is a joke, and the way the league handled everything up to this point is a farce.

Nick Paul with a nice deflection, 3-1 Senators with 7.5 seconds remaining in the second period!

This NYR-WAS game has been a bit of a gong show. Embarrassing that the league leaves it up to the players to exact revenge on each other.

Nah. All this is avoided if the NHL, teams, and fans would be happy with the rule book being called. They won’t. So this will keep happening. I actually think it’s going to get worse over the next few years.

Looked about the same to me. Three guys with gloves off in the first 2 seconds in both instances. Only difference in CGY-VAN was all five guys eventually paired off whereas only three went in NYR-WAS.

Oiler fan wants more PPs no way!

its not about calling everything that would ruin the game. Automatic suspension for punching someone when they are on the ice would be enough.

Why is hockey the only sport where they won’t call infractions that are seen?

I know you’re obsessed with the oilers, but it has nothing to do with them.

The NHL feels like such an outdated sideshow league right now

The Habs will not have horseshoes in this game. The Senators are helping the Flames here.
