We have traded a 2022 2nd and Brett Kulak to San Jose in exchange for defenseman Oscar Klefbom
Obviously Klefbom has missed all of this season with an injury but, when healthy, he's a fantastic defenseman and will be an RFA for us at the end of his current deal.

Get real Scorp...you ain’t kidding anyone with that sort of response and are really taking away from a couple thoughtful arguments with a nonsense post.
Flambers, argument could be made either way but I like to think a former 5th overall has some skill. And who cares if he benefits from someone else it doesn’t take away from what he is doing and how he is rated.
Sportsjunky, it’s all good and explained for any less I wouldn’t have done the deal. Difference of opinion and wasn’t trying to pull a fast one.
Strome ain’t junk, I wish people would stop posting as if he is. I guess he still has Oiler stink on him? .

I don't think Strome is junk, he's a useful player... but he's also shown in the past that he's not really a great driver when he's been asked to carry a line by himself. He has a lot more support with the NYR and, as such, his production has improved.
I don't think it's the worst deal I've ever seen, not at all. But a top-10 pick and another first is a hell of a lot. I think it should stand — lord knows I became a better trader after I got sent to the cleaners in my first year — but I also don't think there's anything wrong with us saying it's not great, just so the Florida GM can read all this and get a sense of what to expect going forward.
For the record, if it was Strome and a 2nd for the two firsts... I don't think I would have batted an eye. There's obviously going to be huge value with having Strome next year after he scored 46 points in 52 games this year.
But I just don't know if he was a great target for Florida to pursue... feels very much like buying high.

You insinuated in your post s that Strome is only worth a 2nd. That doesn’t help anything.
I’m done with this. There has been enough talk.

Well yeah. From my POV, I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense to be trading for Strome right now. I understand that his value is pretty high right now and I don't begrudge you for wanting what you got, although I think Florida could have done better at haggling you down a bit. I also know that you're very steadfast on your prices and always have been. And I respect that.
If getting Strome is really what Florida wanted to do... I don't blame them. But I don't think buying high on Strome makes a whole lot of sense. I think his value is generally around a low first. The 2022 draft is supposed to be good and I think Colorado's second round pick will be high. So that's what I would have offered.

TO PREDS
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
3rd (ANA) 23'
750K
TO DUCKS
1st (NAS) 23'
2nd (NAS) 23'
Picks are a long ways out, but have a bit of a log jam of RFA's up front, and clears up some cap space to make more deals.
Thanks Cambam8 for the quick deal.

Well worth it, I think. Much better than my past moves of owing picks for Keith Yandle and Stefan Noesen.

We have traded Oscar Klefbom and Brady Lyle to Nashville in exchange for Jonathan Toews and a third round pick.
