Flames are 5th in expected goals for in the last 25 games, and 4th in the last 10. Canadiens are 22nd in the last 10. One team is getting hot and one team is cooling off.
The tough part is that even the worst team will beat the best team 30% of the time. The Flames can keep playing well as that's within their control, but they'll need a significant amount of luck still

The habs are the worst team in the north right now. The flames will probably run out of runway though.
Losing that last mtl game was a killer.
Although they have blown a ton of other games this season

That Vancouver series was setup for the Flames to bag 6-8 points...now it probably won't even happen

That was being debated on the FAN yesterday. They certainly will be playing in at least 2 of those games but the last 2 make no sense as they would likely be played when the other divisions have started playoffs so not sure it makes sense to play those games.
It would be all kinds of crazy to see the Jets lose 11 of 12 to miss the playoffs. I just don’t see it I think the Flames are eliminated tonight
