Why are people getting upset over this? Thanks for the article Scorp. I likely wouldn't have read it if you didn't post it in the MAIN forum.

Complaining about a relevant news article that someone has spent hours probably to write makes someone come off as an insensitive jerk. Nothing else.

I'm sure your spouses enjoy your OCD behaviors offline. Take your compliments from them and leave it at that. No need to impose those behaviors to downplay someone's contribution. It's extremely negative.

Ironically this thread now has drummed up more action than the 3 responses it garnered before rubecube brought it up. Clever girl!

I'd also suggest to get rid of the back burner forum, and just have one catch-em-all forum for hockey content. Technically this thread shouldn't be in this forum, but it's fair for Scrop to say that if he posted it in the appropriate forum, no one would even notice it's been posted. As well we already have threads in here that talk about specific prospects, that should probably be in the back burner.

The Back Burner forum originally came about because some didn't want prospect talk in the main forum. At the time it was thought a separate forum might encourage more specifically-focused threads.

So you agree it's no longer necessary then?

I find I visit the backburner less because more stuff is posted on the main forum.

I think that we should either use the backburner thread for he Heat and all prospects/drafts, or delete it and instead create a sticky section on these main boards with the 4 or 5 active threads there (or they will get lost).

I am all about order, dammit.. I need order in the world.

I think there is still a place for the Back Burner. Maybe it's just me, but I check it almost daily mostly to track the steady progress of Flames prospects. There are several posters like Sandman and TheIronMaiden who go to the trouble of regularly updating the Juniour, College and European League results. It's nice to be able to see what is going on without sorting through the FOI traffic.

But I think there is also ongoing room in the FOI for newsworthy stuff, or for things like Scorp's articles precisely because not everyone bothers to visit the Back Burner.

We can honestly accommodate both without any trouble, and we can definitely manage the bleed-over that occurs.
