Agreed. There were rumors that Bennett and Puljujarvi were part of the Lucic-Neal swap but I am not sure I buy those. That may have been a win-win for the both however

Yeah, he’s got a long way to go. 2nd line player in Florida.
(You should check out all the guys on the Flames this year. If I tell you I’m worried about Tkachuk, Andersson, Markstrom... will it take more than a #### season to convince you about them?)

Bennett's looked good on the powerplay too which is something we've struggled with all season in Calgary
He was on the ice for both of the Panthers PP goals tonight and had an assist on one of them

The preds announcers are ridiculously homer. They make the Oilers bunch look,
well, the Oilers bunch are still awful but you get what I mean

Nice backcheck and hit by Bennett on the PP. Laid a guy out. Puck goes the other way and Bennett is almost in all alone with the goalie.
And then Barkov makes a ridiculous play to set up Huberdeau for the goal. Slow confident deke to be face to face with the goalie making him think he will shoot, then calmly dishes it off to Huberdeau.
Damn...this team is good.

IMHO Calgary sheltered him too much. Florida sees him for what he was drafted for.

The Panthers (color?) guy's voice reminds me too much of Raptors color guy Jack Armstrong which really throws me off haha

A small play around 5:38 left in the 2nd - Bennett received a pass way behind him in the O-Zone corner and made a beautiful move to bring the puck up to his front and maintain possession. Didn't lead to anything, but it was a nice high skill play that showed a lot of confidence.
He's gonna hit bumps in the road, but he's earning more and more leash every game. It also goes to show how some PP time can help build/maintain offensive momentum.

He's had a lot of great shots from the slot/dots and often missed the net. I doubt he'll ever be a sniper, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he dials in a bit better now that he's getting so many reps/opportunities. That line is generating tons of chances. Huberdeau stirs the drink, but Bennett has been doing exactly what people have clamoured for Gaudreau's C to do.
