Tough one. Sillinger is the best player in that group, but do we really want to draft another kid with skating issues? He has it all, vision, shot, IQ-just has a bit of a hitch in his stride. Had over a ppg in the WHL, not this year, but LAST year, his draft minus one year. Reminds me of Zary. If he can improve his skating, you have a star.
Lambos is going to be a very good 2-way defenseman-his offense is underrated. Put up great numbers in his Dminus1 year too. Decent size, good skater.
I worry a little when it comes to Chaz, because a lot of these kids who are pure goal-scorers in junior (with goals way higher than assists) seem to have a hard time making it, plus-he’s had injury issues.
I think it’s Kent Johnson or bust!

The Flames are currently 10th worst in the league. With Seattle, they’re scheduled to pick 11th. They may have Lysell, Lucius and Sillinger available to them at that spot. I personally hope they can lose a bunch down the stretch by resting injured players, calling up AHLers, etc. I want Kent Johnson.

per TSN and Friedman
draft lottery set for June 2.
The current plan is to give the Coyotes forfeited pick the normal odds and if they win, the league will redraw.

Lol that would be amazing if that pick won and they announced just to rub it in.

Flames luck: Flames get second overall and coyotes get first, instead of just removing coyotes, they redraw and Flames get 12th overall.

This year 1st overall isn't a huge deal. It's 2022 and 2023 we REALLY want that top pick.

We’re getting 1OA the year the OHL doesn’t play a game. For sure.

There's no way something like that would ever happen unless it was the Flames.

As ‘meh’ as this draft is, we still want to win the lottery to get a shot at the big 3 forwards: Guenther, Beniers, and Johnson.

Mason McTavish is the best OHLer. RHS center. Skating is the issue.
I'm still locked into Kent Johnson and Chaz Lucius.

Would be nice for the flames to pick in the top 8 of the draft. Arguably, there is a drop in tier after that.

Who do you have in the top 8 and then the drop off?
Genuinely asking as I think there are lots of different POVs with this draft.

In no particular order, I would just use the FC top 9 minus the goalie. So Beniers, Guenther, Power, Hughes, Edvinson, Eklund, Clarke and Johnson.

I think my list of "wants" from the Flames can be extended to 15 players, the ones you listed (plus the goalie prospect Wallstedt), and the following 6:
So if we were to play our hearts out and barely miss the playoffs, any one of these prospects would be good in my books. I definitely like the top 8 you mentioned over the other ones I listed.
Sillinger (C)
Lucius (C)
Raty (C)
McTavish (C)
Ceulemans (D)
Coronato (LW)
We have a good chance of drafting a top notch C or D prospect. I know BPA is preached, but the draft is so tight this year that positional need could very well be the way to go. For the Flames, we need help in all departments. Personally speaking, I would like to get one of Powers, Hughes, or Clarke.

Indeed, very fair to say there's a drop off after the top-8. The waters are a little more muddy after that.
