Yep, I was on the fence for a membership, but after jumping on one I'm very happy if only for the 8 day booking during another Covid crazed season, even putting aside the price per round if I can get to 72 rounds like I'm hoping. Step 1: book 3-4 rounds a week step 2: Cancel as needed.

Then when the weather takes a great turn like it has this week, I'm not scrambling like 90% of the city. Already had a Friday 2:00pm booked last thursday (had one guy back out, so PM if you feel like joining).

Where did you get a membership for the year?

Thanks for the offer. But we may be heading to Canmore for the weekend so If we don’t I may have to try and get lucky with a tee time Friday.

anyone try the Kirkland wedges from Costco? Comes in a pack of three for $180. Tempted since a vokey is $200+ for one.

Looked for them yesterday in Vancouver, seem to be sold out.

I’ve used them for 1 round so far. Didn’t really notice a difference from my 56 Calloway wedge.

I wanted a 52 and 60 so saved a bunch getting these and my Calloway 56 needed replacing anyway.

Played The Track out in Langdon today, first time there since the rebrand and reopening. Course is in nice condition, great value for $40 on a weekday.

i was going to head out on friday by myself and looked at 6 golf courses in the south and had trouble finding a tee time that fit my schedule - I was stunned that it was hard to get a time as a single.

Of course while I was looking someone decided to schedule and employee meeting on a friday that ultimately nuked my plan

i tried to go the the mckenzie meadows range last night, and when i pulled up there were empty stalls; however, when i got tot eh ball machine there was a line up 6 deep to get ammo - i gave up and went back home

Mainly use it because I already had a Samsung Gear s3 watch and it's one of the only golf apps I could find for that.
Can you download the course and not use data to get the GPS?

I don't think so but I've never tried.
I have a large enough date plan that I don't really think about that.

FYI...If you are golfing Kanaskis this summer you will need a park pass.

I asked on Twitter yesterday and the course replied and confirmed.

I'm sure trolling the parking lot of the golf course will be prime fishing territory for enforcement.

Speaking of Kananaskis, why is it so impossible to get a tee time there now? I don't recall it being like that before the flood. I know it was 2 courses before but it can't just be that, can it?

People book a bunch in advance then cancel.

Just look 4 (maybe 3?) days in advance of when you want to play and you usually have no issues. That’s how we book our rounds out there.

Anyone up for a round at Speargrass on Sunday? I have a tee time at 4:20 but I don't think my buddies can make it.

Played Mickelson yesterday. I love the course. But being on the west side of town with no wind protection made it a pretty miserable round.

I’d play out there as much as I can but with the wind I think it will just be a once in a while thing. Really too bad.

Does anybody know why all of the City courses have their Driving Ranges closed?

Is it because of Covid?

It still is two courses (36 holes). Or should say it is 36 holes again.

Had my first ever night of mens league last night and really enjoyed it. Not that I need anymore challenges at this point as I'm playing at a 19, but playing a match, by the rules 100% adds a so much more to the game I found.

This came up a page or two ago about playing with guys who would hit of the tee until they got a good one, or wouldn't count certain shots, or penalty strokes etc... I use to be that guy to certain a extent, but did change as I wanted to establish a true handicap. If you want to see any true improvement in your game you have to play this way.

Yes, from yesterday's announcement. I don't think this is necessary the most you should do is to leave every other stall empty. It seems to me that nothing works so let's just do something else like closing down the outdoor driving ranges.
