Sutter just shutting Francis down left and right in the press conference.
Francis: "How would you characterize that first period pressure that Montreal came out with, and the physicality?"
Sutter: "They came out with some physicality."
Franics: "How big was Johnny's goal at the end of that period to kind of get things even?"
Sutter: "Well it made it 1-1, so."

Canucks are actually closer to the Habs. They will have just as much to play for. While they might have a tough schedule, they also had the benefit of a long rest as well.
Could be a case where that series gets split and both teams lose out and the Habs make it.
Again, if the Flames are within 8 points they will have a chance going into that series. Destiny in their own hands.
all things considered that is all we can ask for right now IMO
The Canucks may or may not have anything to play for

Games in hand only matter if you win them.
A lot of work to do and a ton of games, without Petterson.
But yes..... I could honestly realistically see the Flames and Canucks eliminating each other because they fight equally as hard to get in and split their games.
Would be both funny and sad, since Montreal might realistically be the worst of the three clubs.

As had been discussed ad nasuem, Francis pipes up on there mainly as he wants to make sure his voice is constantly heard as the unofficial journalist of the Flames. This means he can then hop on other cities radio stations as the Flames insider, and so he can send clips of his involvement in to TSN and Snet and try to upgrade his gig.
It's usually a couple cliched and leading questions, and then sprinkles in a question off the cuff to sound like he's thoughtful and smart about hockey. Has been for a long time, including the ill-fated season he was in the Hot Stove for a few months.
Sutter sees right through that self absorbation.
With Sutter, and the press, if you working your best to come up with a thoughtful question, he'll give you a nice long answer. When it's just mailing in a cliched question about "how does it feel to win" or "tell me what it means for the team for JG to get two goals", you're going to get abrupt answers.Jermiane Franklin was the worst at this, when Sutter was here the first time and ever since.
I’ll get roasted for this but only team that scares me is the Oil.
We did pound them 5-0 in our last meeting, so that gives me some hope. But McLotteryball does seem to own us this year.
Good thing is if the Flames do end up pulling off a miracle and making the playoffs, they'll certainly be one of the hottest teams going in. In that scenario against the Grease, I'd say our chances would be pretty good against the Grease.
Sutter hired March 5th so not including the 6th as he wasn’t behind the bench they’re 2-2 including a blowout win each way. But McDavid looks pretty damn good this year.
