Is this The Spurs best chance to qualify for Europe this weekend?A Carabou Cup victory would guarantee them a spot in the Europa Conference League.

Well sure it could be. I mean we’re 2 points out and the teams ahead of us play each other, so someone’s dropping points tomorrow.

Well, I suppose that's one way of spinning it.
Unfortunately the reality is that the other team is going to be gaining points leaving you five adrift. Best you can hope for is a draw.

But then, also there's the very possible scenario where fourth won't cut it for CL football if Chelsea finish out of the top four and win the CL and Arsenal win the EL.

Justice for Newcastle after that absolute disgrace of a decision on the handball.

Yeah one team is five points ahead (unless it’s a draw) and we’re two out of 5th with games to go. It’s not spinning anything though, that’s literally the situation.

And sure, those two teams could win those competitions, but I wouldn’t say it’s a foregone conclusion. We’ve obviously had a brutal season, and while that sucks for us, have a look at the shambles down the road. We’re up on them by 7 at this point despite what can only logically be considered an enormous underperformance on our end.

I don't think it's a stretch to say the we were the largest under-performers in Europe this season. I don't think that we were favourites to win the league or anything, but most would've thought we'd be performing better than we did.

Chance for all three relegated 2019-20 teams to get promoted right back to the PL. I'm too lazy to look, but I'm gonna guess that's never happened before.

And at the other end Rooney trying his best to send Derby down with five losses in a row.
Being saved by none of the bottom three able to win.
Looking at the fixtures if Sheff Wed get a point against Forest then they go to Derby for the final game knowing a win keeps them up and send Derby down.

No. Honesty most didn't think that. You had Mourinho in charge. That story basically writes itself now.

Getting the calls even after trying to ruin football. Life of the "big" 6 continues unabated.

I have seen many blaming VAR but really this is just another incompetent ref. How do you look at that and conclude it to be a red card.

How are you arriving at this Big 6 , VAR conspiracy?

Exactly! VAR alerted the ref who then with the benefit of multiple replays and slow motion replay (which made it look worse) made an absolutely terrible decision.

I get that VAR should be blameless here but sometimes I get a sense that when the VAR ref calls the pitch ref to the screen more often than not they go with whatever it was they were alerted to. Like peer pressure.
