Not to defend Francis but it is the raise hand function on Teams / Zoom.

If anyone wants a chuckle go read that clown Eric Engels latest article on Sportsnet after this game. What a Jabroni. Seems like the type of Montreal reporter that would leave Iggy off the list for the Hart trophy voting...

Ya, whats he keep going on about the ice? Lol he's just so focused on painting the flames as a trap team narrative he'll look to anything to help that. The fact is Calgary isn't the fastest team, we all know that, but to say we're just a trapping defensive team is making excuses imo. Montreal is a #### team that probably doesn't deserve to be where they are, while Calgary has quite underperformed this year. They claim the Flames play such boring hockey but for half the year we were so disjointed we gave up all kinds of breakaways and odd man rushes.....what more do they want haha

Basically everyone should roll over for their crap team and if they don't there some reason why unrelated to their own inabilities.

IMO, the Flames, and the games, are far more entertaining under Sutter.

Boring was watching Ward hockey. His MO was to slow everything down, and games were played at 60% pace. It was not only terrible hockey, but also terribly boring.

Sutter has come in and cranked the intensity to 10. The Flames were playing with more pace last night than I can remember in a very long time. Personally, I find that infinitely more entertaining.

The 'Sutter hockey is boring hockey' narrative is not only lazy, it is also completely inaccurate, IMO.

Exactly right!

When your team has 15 high quality/danger scoring chances to the opposition’s 5, that should make for an exciting night.

If that’s boring hockey, then I’m very excited for a full season of it next year

A win is a win and I was happy with that effort especially seeing a good game from Sean Monahan among others. They just have to find ways to win and that's it, there's nothing really more left to do or say but just find ways to win.
I still think they can get into the playoffs, Go Flames!

Sure interesting to see the experiment of breaking up the top two pairings and the result.

Flames pairings with 75+ and xGF%

Giordano-Tanev 60%
Tanev-Hanifin 59%

Tanev is amazing ...

Stone-Valimaki 56%
Nesterov-Valimaki 55%

Bottom pairings have done well protected ...

Hanifin-Andersson 49%
Giordano-Andersson 46%

Andersson the common link to struggling.

Was always intrigued to see how the Andersson/Giordano thing would go if they split them up, sure hard not to see Andersson as the issue.

Getting him straightened out will be key for next season.

What were Anderson’s numbers like last year? He has never struck me as a very strong defensive dman to my eye test at least.

It's a one off.

Last year he was on the two best pairings when it comes to xGF%

Giordano-Andersson 56%
Hanifin-Andersson 54%
Giordano-Brodie 53%
Andersson-Kylington 51%
Stone-Brodie 50%
Hamonic-Hanifin 49%

Almost wonder if he's just trying to do too much in this crazy season that has had everything go wrong.

Hopefully its just part of the maturing process.

Young guy trying to figure out how to fill a much bigger role. Its a difficult position to master without having at least one elite skill....skating/passing/shot/etc....but he has done all of these things well in the past.

Just has to put it all together and not so unusual for a guy his age to be struggling to do so.

It was kind of nice watching the game without much stress, unlike the majority of this season.
