That story seems 100% believable to me. Hockey players are no smarter about their behaviours than civilians, and boy have I seen some dumb civilians.

The Rintoul show has been unbearable today as this is all they have been talking about. Do Canucks fans even care about this enough to hear it all day?

I certainly believe that there are people of all walks of life that are behaving irresponsibly, so let's try and be a little cautious about throwing stones.
This could just as easily happened to any team as likely as it happened to the Canucks. I have no doubt the the story about the Canuck player is true, but I also have no doubt there are players on all teams, yes even the Flames, doing the exact same thing.

Also, what the hell does Karma have to do with anything? It is a virus. It gets around whether you believe in Karma or not.

Oh don't get me wrong, hockey players are not immune to being ####ing stupid. That Gaudette thought going to Whistler at all was good idea shows that.

But the "my friend saw a guy! I seen't it too!" argument is literally orange julius grade as far as forming an argument as to why the team should be punished. Especially when these sorts of things are being investigated at both the team and league level (I believe that's part of the protocol) and both have come out and said that protocol was not broken.

If the players refuse to play games now and the tv contracts aren't met I think it will be completely fair to punish the team.

Should cost the owners cash and maybe all their 2021 draft picks.

People who don't believe in science and ignore protocols are obviously at higher risk. Notice how more hard core right wingers in the states are getting covid?

I also don't remember this outrage when the Devil's were in the same situation

I'm confused. So Gaudette didn't break protocol by going to Whistler, he did nothing wrong by going against recommendations to stay local, the team was ok with it and not against protocol? Or is it that he didn't break protocol because he never actually went, vehemently denying it? Is it rumour or has it been established as fact he did actually go?

Going to Whistler and eating at a restaurant with a significant other is not against the NHL protocol. Going to Whistler, while not recommended, is not illegal in BC. As of right now, it's all circumstantial. We know his wife was in Whistler. She has said he was with her. We know he was patient zero as far as the Canucks are concerned and we know it was a Covid variant, which Whistler was a petri dish of.

It was stupid of him, but not against the rules.

Wasn't it his wife twitting about how stupid the covid protocols were and then he gets traded for a bag of pucks.
Not rocket appliances to think that he was not following NHL protocols

How do we know she was in Whistler? I keep reading articles that interview both of them and they say they don't know how they got it, they haven't left the city. So either they are lying(possible), or it's just rumour.

“We basically don’t go anywhere. We’ve been out of the house twice in the last week,” Micaela said.
https://theprovince.com/sports/hocke...y-got-covid-19
Trust me, as a Flames fan living in Vancouver, and with a bunch of friends who are Canucks fans who are telling me "Gaudette didn't go to Whistler, stop believing Internet gossip." It would be nice to find something factual. Or maybe it's just something that gets swept under the rug rather than proven they are lying.

I haven't read it here but how is this special ? How are the Canucks any better than say the stars early in the year?
DGAF about the excuses about who went where and with who and why.....you broke the rules , you aren't special and your team must now deal with the consequences.

Your lack of planning doesn't constitute a F ing emergency on anyone else's behalf.

So sick of the bleeding hearts and oh the poor poor Canucks BS.

If the Flames pulled this shirt I'd be p issed just as much so it isn't just isolated hatred towards Van.

 Dumb is what dumb does.

What on both points? Do you have any actual evidence on either point. And science belief, how many genders are there according to science?

Last place in each div is pretty distinct (BUF, DET, OTT, ANA)...NJD is pretty close right now at .415, but it's also the best division and they've had a fair share of 1OAs, so let's treat them like the rest.

Those 4 get 10% each.

The other 12 get 5% each. Draw for all spots.

It’s completely reasonable to discuss if what they did was actually in violation of any rules. If it was pre March 30th then there were no restrictions with travelling to Whistler.
