FOMO easing even more after this dip on earnings. Might even get back in soon enough.

Wonder how the market will react to the Air Canada bailout news?

AC should react well, 500m dilution only represents 1/18 of the market cap (a bit more due to the discount). The loans are low interest and since they were the first to finish negotiations they get all the good press from the refunds.

Depending on the bump I may sell my position earlier then I expected.

I may also sell my position today but look to buy back in at a later date on a dip

I put in an order that didn't get filled. Seemed to fall off towards the end of the day but back up after hours. Would like to get in at some point.

Shortest term I've ever owned a stock bought right at opening sold less than 1 minute later at ~$418. Soon as I saw there was not going to be a sustained run up I was out. Dodged a bullet there, don't know if I'll get back in.

I'm noticing all my gold stocks rising of late, and spec stocks continuing their decline.

Reading the tea leaves, it looks like the market is starting to tilt towards a correction rather than another bull run.

Link to story - Deli with $35K in sales over two years valued at +$100MM

This story is making the rounds today, making me wonder if it would be better to shift some money out of ETFs, and into specific company names (ie. invest the ETF into the top 20 holdings of the ETF) so at least it is in actual names versus potentially buying all the garbage like the linked company.

Obviously there would be a one time commission incurred, but then you have a better idea of what you are holding. The flip side is that likely even with companies like that sprinkled in to the 'global all holdings' or whatever ETF, they are such a small part maybe it is not worth worrying about. Thoughts?

Sundial is a garbage company all the way through. Only try to play a swing trade on this, I have no doubt in my mind that this company will be bankrupt in 2 years time. No one will even sniff buying them when they check under the hood.

Hope?

The bull run on spec stocks is over, so they're pretty much all crashing to the ground now in favour of more staid and stable ones. Like I said above, I think we're seeing a correction, and one that might be fed by tempered optimism about when this pandemic is actually going to end.

I had just put some money in Air Canada and Suncor, and was eyeing other stocks likely to benefit from increased travel this summer, but recent hardcore lockdowns in BC and Ontario (not to mention Alberta's situation) have me now waiting to see how far this dip can go before I chuck any more money in.

My approach over the next couple of months (and again, I'm just a guy with no clue what he's doing) is to focus on a handful of stocks I know fairly well in industries that should do well after the pandemic, and buy into them when it looks like they may have bottomed again. In the meantime, I'll be holding on to my gold and REIT stocks, as well as some of these spec stocks that have fallen so far they're no longer worth selling.

I think that, if you have a stock in your portfolio that (a) doesn't pay a good dividend, and (b) isn't likely to go up in the next 2 months, you should probably dump it and look to re-buy it (or something else entirely) a few weeks down the line.

On another note, there's reason to believe the market will surge again in the fall. The new budget just screams "inflation" as far as I can see, so holding cash will just make it rot. The government has basically committed us to inflation and low interest rates for the balance of the decade from what I can tell. If your money isn't in stocks, bonds, real estate, or physical assets, it's going to be worth less and less as the months go by, at least IMO.

I'd be curious to know how others see it
