That's an incredible haul for Bennett, especially considering his inconsistencies and current role on a below average team.
Well done Treliving. Great, great trade.
The upside is I get to still cheer for him on the Panthers and watch him blossom in the playoffs again! I know coach Q will enjoy his style, as long as he keeps the penalties at a minimum.
I sincerely hope this is their year to go on a run.

I'm really hoping the new opportunity proves that he's a valuable player in the league.
Decent value for us as well.

A goal-scoring winger who plays a very good 200-foot game. A very good skater. Not afraid to play the body. Great on-ice effort level. Very good by the boards. Lacks high-end offensive tools but projects to become a good complementary winger at the NHL level.
I fear for whichever prospect the six posters with undying Bennett hate now transfer their attention towards.

I chose Florida as my bandwagon team already, this makes me glad I don't have to cheer for the Leafs...

I really like Bennett. I stopped thinking he was going to become a bona fide scorer, but with a good coach like Sutter, I felt he would have been salvaged into a very dependable player that can contribute on the score sheet and gives you a tonne of sandpaper. I am actually sad to see him go, and didn't think that it would happen this trade deadline - or maybe at all.
The return is decent - more decent than I anticipated. Heineman sounds like a horse - strong work ethic, always moving his feet, etc. 2nd is valuable as well.
I am glad that he is moving out east as well, as I still think he has both the potential to become a much better player than he has shown in Calgary, while also being a difficult player to play against. I wouldn't want him on a rival, or having to play him 6x a year, plus playoffs.
Hope he lights it up in Florida! Hope Heineman and whomever is drafted in the 2nd round lights it up here too.
