Sad to see Rittich leave. He seemed like a really great person who loves the game. I enjoyed seeing his brother get super excited when he met Harvey the Hound. You could tell BSD is a good family man.

Best of luck to you, Dave.

I don’t think a 3rd is really great value. It’s not horrible though. Pretty meh.

I think I’ll miss the person more than the player. Rittich is a character and the video of his brother meeting Harvey the Hound was one of the best feel good videos I’ve ever seen.

Big Smoke Dave

Okay with the return. Taking the third in 2022 pick is a smart choice, as hopefully prospect scouting will be a little more settled by then.

Ask yourself: would you be sad about a 3rd round pick for Karri Ramo?

Because we just got a 3rd round pick for Karri Ramo.

Good luck, BSD. I enjoyed watching you work.

I'm surprised at the number of people who think a 3rd for a backup G on an expiring deal is not enough.

I wasn't sure any team would be interested in Rittich with his basically non-existent playoff experience. So a 3rd rounder was a nice surprise.

My favourite Big Save Dave memory is when he bat flipped on Draisaitl after stopping him in the shootout in Edmonton last season. Was at that game up in Shelbyville and it was a great night.

Thanks for everything Rittich!

3.6m in cap is a lot of wiggle room to pull something off all of a sudden.

Liked the guy and hope he does good in Toronto. Getting a 3rd isn't too shabby at all.

Loved BSD.
I'm okay with the pick, and know that we needed to sell what we could, but I'm still bummed to see him go.
I don't like Toronto, but I can cheer for BSD.

Pretty much the right value for a backup goalie on a expiring deal. Who cares about the salary retention it means nothing and we got a asset.

This year made me understand the hate for that celebration even less.

Somehow Binnington can fake punch players after getting pulled and he got less flack for that than Rittich celebrating a win.
