Was nice seeing the Flames play well for a change. There were still quite a few bobbled passes and at times players looked surprised when they received a pass.
The one player I am concerned about is Tkachuk. He just looks disinterested, and I am really wondering what is up with him.

Can you imagine the outrage if that had been Tkachuk taking out Haas, or Kassian, or god forbid McDavid or Draisaitl.

My last take about the excuse
very sad and my condolences but the he passed away over a year ago...its not like it happened last week. They have played how many games since.
To use a celebration of life as an excuse for a loss...even if you did feel down is the game really that important to bring it up.

The way he brought it up, oh not an excuse to be clear but NHL I blame you but not an excuse.
What a POS.

Grief can last a lot longer than a year and days of significance like today can trigger different emotions. It can motivate you or it can deflate you. At the end of the day if you think he is making an excuse or not, who really cares. They lost.

what the league was thinking? they were probably thinking they need to scramble to get through this schedule so you can make 12.5M to play a kids game

Every day there is something going on that can make it hard to play a sport.
Every day there is something going on to give you motivation to play great in a sporting event.
You are a professional. Just play.

Feel how you feel...don't bring that up in the media, that is making an excuse
kid needs to grow up a bit, its only a game take the L and move on
I'm sure Colbys wife is thrilled about the trending twitter topic that McDavid had a bad game because of the celebration of life

It was more his insinuation the league should have to accommodate the Oliers. Like the hockey world rotates around them.

Yeesh you guys sure are worried about his comments tonight.
I’d be more worried that you finally passed the covid Canucks in the standings who haven’t played a game in 2 weeks.

Speaking of which, did Kassian even play tonight? I had to tune out mid game but watched most of it. I don't recall even seeing him.

If there is, I've gotta think that Lucic is one of the leaders in this area...
The third goal (Lindholm) tonight owed a lot to him, and he was even a big influence on Gio's goal...
I've just been totally impressed with his season. He's becoming one of my favourite Flames this season.
|
Lucic doesn't show up much on the scoresheet, but he contributes a ton on the forecheck. Just go back and watch AC's compilation of Lucic from last year and the things he does in the offensive zone far outweigh some of the drawbacks of his game. He's been even better this year than last too, you're definitely not wrong. Quality third line grinder with some offensive flair that gives his all nearly every night.

Oiler fans knocked down a little bit tonight...just a little appetizer for round one of the playoffs when they realize despite a career year from their 39 year old goalie, Norris Nurse, and McDavid/Drai scoring at as high a pace as they ever will.
They are still average at best and will never beat a Winnepeg/Toronto in a 7 game series let alone an Avs or Tampa.

Nah, why worry about that? There is a lot of parity in the first round. Moving down in the draft order a spot isn't a big deal.
