Not super surprising to see him sign so soon... he's 21 in July and was the oldest player the Flames selected last year. He's already a KHL regular at a pretty young age. And he's familiar with NA, having played a year in the OHL with Saginaw.

Wow. That's kind of a surprise to me. I always like when the Flames sign their puck but I figured Solovyov was a year or two away from signing.
 They must really like him.

Button said on draft day that the plan was to have him come over and play in the AHL right away. Picking him at the end of the draft may have been just a sure way of securing his rights:

Not a bad strategy if they thought other teams were interested.

More like Little Minsk. Solovyov is Belarusian.

It wasn't funny last week when you posted the same thing in the Kuznetsov thread and it is not funny now.

Maybe you should take a break from this forum for a bit. You seem wound up.

It's gotta be hard work policing a whole forum.

Kicking an oil troll is the opposite of hard work. Only an oil troll would compare signing with the flames to signing with the career ruining graveyard that is the oilers organization. Ergo; #### off.

He's a teammate of the towering Falkovsky, do we still own his rights?

Falkovsky hasn't been Flames property for a while now. Think he's back overseas or potentially in the ECHL?
Edit: apparently he's on a tryout with Minsk.

I don't think so the he was only signed to a minor league contract, then the Kings came in and signed him, he spent a couple years with their AHL/Echl teams, now the KHL, he may be a FA.
