I actually think DS is ok with Eric and doesn’t mind some of the tough questions he asks. To be honest.

I agree with that, he seems ok with him
He’s a pro and his answer to the question was basically a statement he wanted to make, and it could have been the answer to a few different questions
Unlikely any beat reporters can throw him off

Yes, for sure. Plus, DS is always very cordial with Francis, even calling him by his first name on many occasions when answering questions. Which is much more personable when not done in a condescending manner.

Definitely. I know Eric stirs the pot at times, but Darryl and him have a long history, and there is some respect there for sure. It’s nice to see

Eric still needs to tone down the rhetoric and drama. It’s not professional or respectful. But I guess Darryl is ok with it.

I feel that some of the players have started to hate the game and it has become a job for them. There is no joy in our play any more.
They show up, play their shift, but don’t take pleasure in it. We’ve all had days like that but something happens and you bounce back. This team has no bounce back and they aren’t having fun.
Remember 2004 when DS got the players to buy into 7 game series in the regular season and the narrative that everyone especially the nhl didn’t want the flames to win? And that fired up the team? I don’t see any of that.
Right now, we are the definition of playing out the season.

I’m pretty sure the seven game segments was a Hartley thing.

Man it is bare around here.
Anyways this is something I read that reminds me of this Flames team and how the season is going.

This is a talented team no doubt, but they aren't working hard.

This is a team that can dominate large parts of a game and yet fail to score. The opposition makes the most of their limited chances and pulls out a win. That pretty much sums up this season.

I really thought that the best thing about the Darryl Sutter hire was that he was going to be a cure for the emotional fragility of this team. I was very wrong about that.

I agree. The time has come where Tre has to do a serious shakeup of the core. Enough time has been given and staying the course will only prolong what we are seeing.
Bring in players that want to show up for every game with an attitude of hating to lose. This team doesn't have that extra gear to take it to the next level.

Thank god we don't play again soon---oh god there's another game tomorrow.
But with the 2 Vancouver games postponed, tomorrow's game is actually the last one before the trade deadline (April 12th).

Good for Sutter. They eke out an undeserved fluky win tomorrow then get some days to practice and go 16-0 the rest of the way. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy

Go in tomorrow, snag that big loss and then Tree has a full week to do nothing but work on trades.
It’s perfect. 7 straight days of hard negotiations.
This is Tree’s time to shine. Get some good work done.

Didn’t even bother watching tonight and am unsurprised at the result. Centre ice has been a waste of money this year, probably won’t bother next year. This team is dog $&@!

Fine maybe? Let me rephrase it for how alot of people younger thann45 will see it. Not only do you have almost an endless amount of content to stream video games have never been better. Or people re discovering the outside life due to covid. I know people who never just went for walks etc... now do to covid even in discussing weather they won't miss their outside time . It's just become a habit. People are just finding new things and hobbies now. They wont watch crap hockey any more. I haven't missed a game in almost 15 years but even I wanted to skip the last 13 mins for something else. . I just got a new tv, xbox series x , computer and moniter and I am a hardcore cyclist . For the next 2 months I have lots to occupy my free time instead of the Flames.

That was for sure Darryl's thing back in 2004-not sure if he came up with it, but it was the first time I ever heard of it.
