I always want to cling to the hope of an incredible run dragging this team into the playoffs but it is 100% over already.

That being said, now it doesn’t matter if they win or lose, so hopefully they can build towards something next year, or start moving some big pieces so they can bottom out for wright/savoie/lambert/michkov/bedard.

Top 5 pick come on! Those D prospects would be a huge addition Power, Clarke, or Hughes

I don't think the Flames are bad enough for a top 5 pick. Now that it's pretty clear who has a shot at playoffs and who does not the tank jobs will go full steam ahead.

I feel pretty good about this one. That was a solid effort last game, I see Flames taking this.

I will openly say I want the Flames to lose. They're out of the playoffs so from this point on, wins are counterproductive. The only way I'm good with wins is if a player gets on a hot streak and it fools a rival GM into trading for them.

And for whoever is going to say that cheering for losses doesn't help the team, because someone will, at this point your cheering for draft position. This season is basically over and you need to think of the future, winning for pride when the games don't matter all these has got the team where they are. Drafting in the middle of the rounds usually keeps you drafting in the middle rounds over and over.

Very likely the last two games prior to the trade deadline. At this point even winning both should not turn this team into buyers.

I don't have much of a problem with those cheering for losses. But I do not have much respect for those who complain about wins.

There's a couple of interesting risers. William Eklund looks to be pushing for top spot. He's crazy dynamic.

Kent Johnson is a strong candidate as well.

Berniers has been ranked 1 for some periods but he projects as as a strong #2 C .

Then another D man that looks quite good too is Endvidsson.

Then there's this American player who could be a strong top 3 pick if it wasn't for a knee injury in Chaz Lucius. Rhs center maybe the best finisher in the draft.

Imo. There's great d men in the is, very top heavy rankings wise. But I've spent the last 2 days brushing up on 1st round forwards as well.

There's centers to be had . And good ones too.

Raty, Johnson , Eklund (maybe, plays all 3 positions, seen a lot of Eklund on RW in highlights too), Berniers, Lucius.

Point being, a top 10 pick is a very nice thing to have this draft.

I do.

Anyone actively cheering for losses...is by definition, a loser. Oiler teams and fans did this for years and they are...losers.

No time for losers.

Is there a difference between cheering for losses and being fine with them? It's negligible, in my opinion.

Really happy to be a loser then. The entire freaking freaking fan forum is filled with people fed up with the mediocrity of this franchise and have been for years. And, as one of the very few teams that have never made a pick in the top 3, its obvious that to even just manufacture 1 chance at a top pick is more appealing than a fruitless 2 points in a game in a written off season where everything has come off the tracks.

Good for you for standing on your pedestal and looking down upon the rest of the fans here.

Yes...huge difference.

In this thread...

It means when you turn the game on tonight, you are actively cheering for the opposition. You are actively cheering for the Leafs, or the Oilers or whoever.

Unacceptable and makes one, again by definition, not a fan.

Just my opinion of course, but one I am confident 100% and OK in having.

Yeah I think there is a difference in actively cheering for losses and not being disappointed with losses. It's one thing for a team to lose because they are not quite good enough. But for a team to come and and not try is deplorable.

I still expect a team to show up and compete. Which has not happened so much this year and makes this such a dislikable team.

I don’t actively cheer for losses but when the game is tied or the Flames are down by 1 I switch channels because a loss is inevitable with this group. The lack of scoring and creativity is maddening. Tkachuk’s between the legs move makes me want to throw a brick at my TV. I find him tough to watch.

I wonder how badly players even want to make the playoffs. More protocols, possibly a bubble vs. heading home to the beach house or whatever.

Chances of playoffs let alone a cup are so slim I bet many have thrown in the towel

oh and no matter who/how you cheer...you can still help the Flames Foundation do their tremendous work within the community and maybe get a great big chunk of change in your bank account for as little as 5 bucks.

As many have said, I've given up on playoffs completely at this point.

But with that change in mentality now I'm just hoping for fun games and wins, and honestly whenever Markstrom plays I'm rooting for him to find his game again to go into next season feeling better. We absolutely need him as part of our long-term solution.

By the way what are people's thoughts on Sutter's results? TSN had an interesting segment that basically said we've regressed in basically every metric, .500 team under Ward and much worse now. 16th PP and below 20th now and etc. I expected growing pains and wasn't too focused on short-term, especially in a condensed season but fascinating nonetheless.
