At this point I think that they need to shut the Canucks season down, make it a do not finish and adjust the dates between the other teams. The entire team is essentially out for at least the next two weeks and depending on recovery potentially even longer. The team wasn't going to make the playoffs either way (not that it matters). Especially if the cases keep adding up within the organization.

I have the most concern about the coaches/management who are at risk of having adverse events occur due to their ages.

Bahahhaha...there is nothing about this team that will stomp anyone...the closest this team will come to stomping anyone is 3-1 or 4-2...

This team? Probably not. But next year could be a completely new batch. No one expected us to lead the west 2 years ago and I eagerly look forward to us feeding other pacific division teams their lunch through a feeding tube next year

Just having a day where I don't care anymore. Thought we were all going to make it to vaccination and the severety of the variants us pretty shocking and scary. The virus wins yet again.

Disagree strongly - sure rich people have more advantages in life, including those that reduce their chances of becoming infected with a virus (living conditions, education, work environment, etc). But in a system with socialized medicine it makes more sense to vaccinate those who will be most severely impacted first as well as those who provide care for the sick. This is part of being a member of a larger community and not motivated primarily by self interest.

Eventually everyone who wants a vaccine will get one, and really... while I love hockey... it is still just a game.

Canucks playing half of their AHL squad just to complete some meaningless regular season games? Nah, just shut it down.

The scary part is that we don’t know a lot about the variants but what I’ve seen is that they cause much worse symptoms for younger healthy people. Not good.

Could it be the considerable outbreak that Hinshaw is referring to is the Flames having been in Vancouver??

It's jarring. The fact that it's only being reported within the team is probably a bit misleading too. We're probably taking about entire households and families. My thoughts are with all of them, how scary.

According to some numbers, people say 1.5x more likely to die and 2x more likely to end up in the hospital.

Also, there is some evidence that the current vaccines have limited effectiveness, although nothing conclusive at this point.

Honestly, I would be fine shutting the Flames down for the season. Even though there aren't cases that they are aware of, why risk it at this point just for our entertainment? I guess some of the players might disagree at least until they are mathematically eliminated, but they seem pretty tuned out anyway at this point.

Just a question and I don't thinks it would be possible but could they not switch or modify the helmets with like almost a bubble mask to help with exposure and droplet transmission obviously not like an actual bubble design but there has to be some way to modify helmets to help reduce transmission of droplets

It is not really up to you or any one of us to decide the appropriate level of sensitivity.

Easier to make them wear masks - even runner’s style ones.
