NYI lost their top LW, Hall is a LW. It took Darren a couple weeks to connect the dots, but finally he got there.

Patrick has been in the NHL for more years than games he's played. May as well sign Brett Lindros since we need some help on RW.

It could also be that the team interested in him would like him to be on their taxi squad to begin with, so the Flyers can place him on their taxi squad then trade him as part of that roster. There are lots of reasons for a player clearing waivers, not having any value is but one. Based on his play, production, and cap hit, that is not the case. Gostisbehere is still a quality player that is attractive, teams just need to be able to send equivalent salary back to make a deal. |
There are a number of teams that could have fit Ghost into their cap, all chose not to do so.

If the goal is to be able to place him on their taxi squad, that pretty much tells me that he’s not very good. The cap savings is minimal.

It also shows that the Flyers were more than willing to lose him for nothing.

Hopefully. He has pretty much played half his career on teams that end up with first overall pick.

It’s likely they are just late to the party of off day taxi squad and game day roster squad, same as we are doing with Ryan. Should have been doing it all year as he would have cleared to start the season or got rid of a headache. This doesn’t mean he is no good he is just not better than other teams options given the cap and COVID (Canada) guidelines. There may be a market for him after the Seattle draft when teams loose D-men and need depth.

I’ve probably complained about this too much, but I hate how these insiders present themselves.

Why can’t they just be analysts, who study the game and teams day in and day out, and find fits for trades and speculate accordingly. But no, they have to “hear” something. It’s so dumb.

The best was last night and the game being canceled in Vancouver and the possibility of them canceling more games. Elliot Friedman "I don't want to speculate without information" I feel like that's what you do more often than not.

Even though I don't want it to happen really I still think Gaudreau might get traded before the deadline this year. Flyers do seem to make a lot of sense for a move right now.
 Gaudreau
 Bennett
 Nesterov

 ($10M total cap hit)

 for

 Konecny
 Gostisbehere
2021 or 2022 1st Round Pick (Flyers choice - could be lotto protected for 2021)

 ($10M total cap hit)

Remaining cap hits work out perfectly for this season, with neither team taking on any money.

Sounds about right I do see a potential goalie swap too.
