Do you think a full blown rebuild or just a retool? They have Darryl 3 years so it seems like retool and if that doesn't work its a rebuild.

JG has been pretty fast tonight. Showing good energy.

Problem is he has no support at all.

It’s frustrating to see a guy who whined his way onto the first line only to show us that he is exactly the plug that he’s always been. He’s had every opportunity to prove himself this year. At this point, there are no excuses left for Sam.

Sadly, he’s but a tiny part of this team’s problem.

Yeah. The more I think about it the best shot the flames had at a top line forward was stone. The more i see valimaki I would do that trade in a heart beat. Stone would have probably liked being here with his brother and would have been that top line leader to help this group. Our luck he would have soured on this group and bailed.

Sad group equals sad results

Unfortunately that is not the case.

And as I posted earlier in the thread:

That number will surely be worse after this game.
In the 10 games since coming back (not including tonight which will make his numbers much worse), on top of Salim's tweet above, among 56 goalies who've played at least 4 games, Markstrom ranks (at 5v5):

- 47th in SV% (.899)
- 46th in GSAA/60 (-0.53/60)
- 38th in HDSV% (.792)
- 30th in average goal distance (20.48)

Overall this season, Markstrom has been poor. Since returning from injury, he's been horrible.

They just keep giving the puck away.
I am a die hard fan, but this is painful to watch.

JG has been skating around the outside like always. But no, he’s not a fast skater. That’s why he button hooks. He can’t beat anyone to the outside.

All that means to to me is the Jets are capitalizing on their chances. The Flames can get all the high danger chances they want but if they constantly find ways to screw them up it doesn't matter. They've done it all year.

I don't think anyone who makes decisions cares what posters here say about players.

I'm sure the Flames pursued him, they just didn't have a Laine and a Roslovic to acquire him with.

Even Stone wouldn’t have helped this team. Besides, he wanted to be in Vegas.

The best part will be the post game interviews where the Flames players talk about how well they played and that they just got some bad bounces.

I doubt the Jets kicking the puck in the net is counted as a high danger chance

The path is a retool that will likely turn into a full rebuild in 3 years. You said it there with Darryl here they are in it to win it. Hockey trades are likely.

If the Flames could move Gaudreau or Monahan for solid futures at the deadline though they could then use a portion of those futures and cap space to make moves in the summer to win now.
