It’s actually accurate to say that the players most complained about, aside from Tkachuk, were not acquired by Treliving. The above guys, plus Gio, Backlund. Now, he did resign each one and he has failed to move them out. So on that basis, fair enough.

Your right me may be let go...it's not going to solve any issues, people want him canned because the team is not performing well, not because it moves the team in the right direction...

I believe it varies from state to state, but it sounds like in most cases, yes.

Yes that will shake up the room, two 4th liner and the backup goalie.

If you're expecting more before the deadline, I suspect you will be disappointed. Point would be to acquire picks/prospects/assets for those that are set to expire. It's not about 'shaking up the room' at this point.
Make sense, or do you need further explanation?

Brad, the guy clearly said "deal with it in the off-season" and which you responded to it by trading 4th liners and the backup goalie but now you're saying you were referring to the trade deadline.
Maybe you don't know the difference between off-season and trade deadline. Trade deadline is set few weeks before the end of regular season, before playoffs. Off-season is after the cup is awarded or after each team is eliminated.

you're nitpicking.
I will state it hear clearly for you. Trade expiring assets before the deadline. Trade core pieces in the offseason.
Now, as you were.

The seat continues to get hotter and hotter for Brad. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
Wish the Flames had a better GM to make some moves at the deadline.

Maloney’s waiting to continue the Arizona way in Alberta. Careful what you ask for.

I don't think so. I think they both get the boot at the same time. Sutter is here for a reason and he is going to have a say in who is the next GM.
Don't think either Treliving or Maloney are going to stick around.

Like I said in the game thread.
Monahan, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Lindholm are no where near good enough. Treliving double downed on this group over the offseason and clearly it was a mistake. Will it cost him his job?
I don’t like to lump Lindholm in this group as he makes 4.85M and is still on pace for 70pts over 82 games after shifting to center.
Gaudreau is supposed to be a franchise player and top 10 scorer in the league. He is playing like a complimentary top line winger
Monahan is supposed to be a goal scoring borderline first line center. He doesn’t even look like a top 6 forward out there
Tkachuk is supposed to be a super pest who can put up point per game or better numbers and be noticeable in some way or another in every game. He has had so many games where he doesn’t seem engaged and he is hardly noticeable.

The dream would be Lombardi but I can’t see any change being made where it isn’t one of Maloney, Conroy or Pascal who gets the job. I could see Maloney leaving with Treliving and I feel like Conroy is their guy.
Maybe Darryl could convince Dean to come here and save him like he did for Lombardi a decade ago?

Incoming GM Don Maloney. The easy hire is the Flames way.

Lombardi would be a nice add. Definitely get rid of Treliving(had his chance) and Pascall. Maloney can stay in his role if need be, but he has proven very little in his GM career, so might as well can him too.

I feel like Maloney is Treliving’s guy so I get the feeling if Tre was fired Maloney goes with him. I could definitely be wrong but I don’t see Maloney sticking around if Treliving is fired.

If it was likely to be your last job in an NHL front office you might not want to just leave because your colleague got fired.

Maybe the organization views them as a package deal and it wouldn’t be Maloney’s decision?
I do wonder if Burke would have pulled the trigger by now if he was still here?

What are they waiting for?
Do they really trust this guy to rebuild?

I worry that somebody like Lombardi would try to re-tool this roster instead of doing a full rebuild, which is the only way out of this mess.
