Icon36 Rangers trade Brendan Lemieux to LA for a 4th

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
Sounds like #NYR working on a trade involving Brendan Lemieux heading to #LAKings. Stay tuned.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Hearing Brendan Lemieux from NYR to LA for a draft pick.\

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Pick is a 4th

He's only 25 but on his 4th team now.

Not a stretch to think Claude Lemieux's son is a POS and wears out his welcome pretty quickly.

Didn't know he was Claude's son. TBF, the previous two trades were multi-player deals where he was just one piece.

He was lowest TOI forward for NYR. $1.55M is a little steep for that...

Such an effective playoff performer though. Part of me wishes he would come and coach Tkackuk.

I’ve always liked this kid, going back to his junior days. Can’t say what he’s like behind the scenes, though. He would be a GREAT Sutter player.

Agreed, I think he would have looked great under sutter. Better than anyone on our 4th line currently probably.

His dad is also his agent.... Could it be the dad maybe wears out the welcome?

Dad could be one of those hockey parents always on the GM for ice time for son.

No disputing that about Claude, but doubt he would want to even talk to Tkachuk. During one of the prospect game (or was it preseason?), Tkachuk went out of his way to beat up Brendan during a game. It seemed like they really hated one another and had some history there.

Claude and Keith had some run-ins, too.

The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Michael Amadio from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for defenceman Christian Wolanin.

Probably not the right thread for this.

Makes for fun trivia though: Christian Wolanin's father is Craig Wolanin, who was also a member of the 1996 Stanley Cup winning Colorado Avalanche.

Lemieux asked for the Rangers to trade him. Which seems to be a reoccurring theme with him. IIRC he asked for a trade out of Buffalo when they wouldn't put him in the NHL right away.

If I'm not mistaken he was close friends with Tony DeAngelo too.

So wouldn't be surprised if that locker had kind of had enough of him too.

I have nothing of value to add to this thread except that growing up my best friend's name was BL. We had a running gag for many years about how his uncle was Mario Lemieux and his grandfather was John Glenn the astronaut. Great times.
