Just saw bits but glad Gaudreau had a good 500th game and not an invisible performance in another loss.
Team petered out completely and had to start from square one tonight. A proverbial hard reset.... They've probably played their way out of the race as well as erased peoples high expectations and now it's about setting the stage for the next two full seasons under Sutter.
Let's hope for more efforts like this with nothing to lose and guys having fun and scoring goals again.
Also shootout to Mikey Smith for smitting the bed tonight, always a treat to see that clown show get capsized by its goaltending like it deserves.

They had the game on at work. And then after the game, it was too busy to switch the channel...so I got to watch Sportsnet Central all night...I got to see the Coilers collapse and lose to the Leafs over and over and over and over again, and I got to see Calgary snap their losing streak and win over and over and over again all night, right after the Coiler highlights.
I'm taking that as a positive sign for the Flames future!

If it makes you feel any worse, Brodeur was selected with the pick Devils acquired from the Flames. Apparently he was the player they wanted all along and they knew he’d be there.
Presumably Flames were intent on drafting a goalie and had they not traded up, he might still have been the pick.
And then Kidd later traded for Giguere.
