That sounds like an F-U to Sutter.

Bounces or not the third period effort was there, had pressure even when up by two. Oh where is the jets fan now?

I watched the interview. I don't think that's how Johnny meant it.

Same.

I think Sutter is forcing some of these guys to mature emotionally, finally.

I liked Gaudreau's demeanour during his media availability. He looked pissed off. Good.

Must be. But it sure comes across to me as, hey I've been playing hockey since I was a baby don't need to be told by anyone when I'm not good enough.

This stat just blew my mind:

https://twitter.com/user/status/1376034957718609920

Big Save Dave is now tied for 5th most wins by a goalie in franchise history. Both he and Roman Turek now have 63. When I think of the top 5 goalies in Flames history, I don’t teally think of BSD but I guess he has to be up there.

P.S. Apparently “Roman Turek” autocorrects to “Roman Turkey” hehehe

Either way, if it's true he meant it that way then let them squabble if it gets him motivated to show up and play like he did tonight.

I think Rittitch had a very solid game. Should return a nice pick and have a chance for a playoff run.

If anyone's looking for some more hockey to watch... UND (with Jake Sanderson) and Minnesota-Duluth are just about to start 5OT. Streaming on TSN.ca.

This franchise has had 3 goalies in 41 years.

Solid win. Though some of the goals were weak the Flames were by far the better team. Nice to see Johnny have a great game, hopefully he can keep it up.

Exactly! Now it's OK to say that when it's those two...and it's a good warning for all the vets and would-be lazy guys to buck up. I like it! Just caught me totally off-guard as I was listening and typing.

It's a pretty low bar. There's Kiprusoff and Vernon, and then a whole bunch of trash.

I'm not sure he actually meant it that way...but his wording sure sounds like it! I think..and he kind of got there later...to say "I heard it and I know I wasn't great...I don't really need to be told."

Bet that's not going to go over too well though. Words have consequences, but Sutter's apparently worked. So Johnny can be grouchy if that's what he really meant, as long as he plays hard, Coach will be fine.
