Honestly what's the problem here? Watching Valamaki lately he gets hammered all the time and isn't making good decisions. Sitting and watching a game or two from above is a good thing for rookies.
Yes but dube has not been the worst
If you want to make a statement, sit Monahan or Tkachuk
Yeah everyone getting upset about Stone and Ritchie in, my guess is these guys bust their ass at practice.
Sutter is trying to send a message about effort here. I actually thought Johnny had some fire in him last game. This is also clearly Sutter trying to blow on the embers here some more. Hopefully he comes out just wired.
Guy brought in to direct a coach killing roster sending a message.
Was bound to happen in my mind.
This wasn't a coaching issue, the coaching upgrade is nice, but the team if flawed and he's making sure the younger players get lessons and avoid following the herd.
Not sure it is a coach killing roster, it is just not a very good roster. It is a poorly constructed team that on paper is about the 22nd best roster in the league. And they are around the 22nd best team in the league. On paper the goaltending is average and it has been average. On paper the defence is slightly below average and it is slightly below average. On paper the forwards are slightly below average and they have been slightly below average. They do not play better than they are but they play at about what you would expect when you look at them on paper.

Sutter is trying to groom Dube into a top line effort who plays hard every game. It's called development. They see Dube as a future leader of the team I bet and don't want him following in the current cores footsteps. So you sit him out and make him accountable. Other teams do this all the time with younger players but it's some kind of affront here.

Stone is going to be better at it than a lot of the D on this team. That's about all he is good at. I also bet he is a good team guy and busts his butt all the time in practice, but yeah let's get mad that they are playing him in the 2nd night of a back to back because what we have been doing is working great so far.

Agreed, Sutter has to push Dube to be more consistent.
Not to mention his high sticking penalty in the 1st was a dumb play.
Yes, really exciting to see blue chip prospect Stone make his debut this season.
Honestly, I don't really care that Stone is drawing in tonight. I mean, why not? I just think it's kind of a sad reflection of where the Flames are as a franchise right now.

Michael stone took 11M from this team without breaking a sweat. I hope that’s the least he can do
But I do not fault him. That’s on the wizard that builds this sad team.
Stone and Ritchie in, Valimaki and Dube out is all the information I needed to opt out of watching this. I hope they don't hang Rittich out to dry. He's been let down repeatedly by this team and this organization. Don't think I'll watch this team again this season.

I guess I see it different, I'd rather see the Coach hold the young players like Dube and Valimaki accountable.
Its a clear message

Maybe but I'm not going to waste my time watching Daryl Sutter make sausage. Depending on what happens with the roster, I might tune in at the start of next season to see if Sutter has put a positive stamp on this team.
Well, I got nothing to contribute. Just hoping for the Flames to be better at home, and that hopefully we can hear some beautiful goal song music being played. For now, this will have to do:

That's fair. Honestly I tuned out the last year of Gulutzan because it was pretty terrible, I couldn't stand his silly face and I had better things to do. Now I have a family and kid and nothing to do during Covid so I'll keep watching. I don't blame anyone for tuning this current iteration of the team out. What I like about Sutter sitting these guys is he is sending a message to the new core.
