Honestly watching this makes me feel better about his season. That team is a garbage fire, but I haven’t watched much. He can clearly still fly. It will be very interesting to see what teams offer him this offseason

I’ve been watching that division quite a lot this year. Adam Fox, in my opinion would be the best Dman on the Flames as of today. It is a shame he didn’t want to play with the club. Even more so, considering he is still on his ELC.

It does look like Hall could have a bounce back in a different place. I'm just not sure the Flames and their popgun offense are a great destination for an offensive player looking to rebound.

Hall makes Lucic's skating look graceful in some of those clips.

At least Hall mostly stays on his skates.

Elite 22 year old budding number 1 dman who brings offensive output in spades.

I wish the Flames could have drafted a stud like that, it's a huge hole in the current line up.

Oh...wait...

What a ####ing joke.

This is why I laugh when people say the salary cap has produced parity between markets.

It hasn’t. There are still haves and have nots, just as it was in the 90s. It’s just taken on a different form.

What? It absolutely has. Players picking where they want to play doesn’t change the fact that teams have a maximum amount of salary they can spend on a team.

Some of the best teams in the league right now are: Islanders, Carolina, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Minnesota...

Zib’s slow start was due to the effects of COVID.

Hall’s slow start was due to the effects of Buffalolitus.

Of course, it’s likely he would contract Flamesitus if traded to Calgary.

But have we ever tried curing Buffalolitus with Flamesitus? How can it really get any worse?

It may be BoA bias, but when I watch the Oilers, I still don't see them as one of the league's elite. They just have the league's most dynamic player who's dragging them along with him, along with another all-star forward and currently getting good goaltending out of Smith.

I just don't see this team going deep in the playoffs, especially with a Smith/Koskinen tandem.

EDIT: but agreed its a different era now. In 2002 & 03 I pulled for the Leafs and the Canucks in playoff rounds, and to a minor extent even the Oilers in 03. Every Canadian team outside of Toronto had a David & Goliath vibe going on so we couldn't help it. I'd NEVER do that now, post-cap

Hall would probably do well under Sutter. He can carry the puck, he can (or used to be?) a puck hound, has good work ethic, and plays a strong north-south game.

That's essentially what the Flames are missing right now... and anywhere would probably be better than playing in Buffalo.

Who knows, it may make us invincible.

Just noticed that Nolan Patrick has only 7 points in 33 games and is a -19.

Obviously him just playing games is a marked improvement, but yikes that's awful for a former 2nd overall.

Not surprising, and IMO the fracture is actually superior to the multiple ligament tears and other injuries that looked possible.

Not a doctor, but watching the video it immediately occurred to me that multiple fractures are possible. His upper ankle bends in a totally godless way, but his knee was already pointing the wrong direction when this happened.

This has nothing to do with the Salary cap and everything to do with Drafting players from the NCAA and them being able to become free agents without having to re-enter the draft or find a place to play for a year.

Even if the rules were altered so that a guy like Fox had to miss an entire season before signing with another NHL team after Leaving College, than maybe he would have been more likely to sign with the Team that drafted him rather than refuse to sign and force his way to the Rangers.

It's pretty much a very Flames like deal to basically give up the two best players in a trade to get two guys who signed for less money. Although in the case of Fox, the Flames played that hand about as well as they could have. I hope the one day something random falls from the sky in New York and wrecks his career. I am that petty.

I think it's tough to call a 21 yo yet to play an NHL game the 2nd best player in that deal (even if it pans out that way in the end). We have 3 more full years each of Lindy+Hani...times up for Hamilton.

It's annoying, but I can't blame Fox for acting in his own best interest. I don't think an NCAA UFA has gone to a team that ended up winning the cup yet, but the NHL should still fix it.

I still think he wants to play for Calgary, he held out as long as he could last season. I wouldn't surprised that his numbers are an indication that he is no wanting to stay where he is.
