I'm not sure I agree. I think those guys have gotten handed more plush situations and Kylington was always kind of the odd man out.
Stretching back to Three seasons which is when all three guys kind of broke in, and looking at pairings >50 minutes for each of them.
Andersson is a bit different to me because he's a RH shot which was more of a need. But going back to 18-19 I feel like Valimaki and Kylington have been fighting for the same spot.
Kylington - Prout: 100 Minutes - 58.4 xGF%
Valimaki - Nesterov: 285 Minutes - 54.8 xGF%
Kylington-Valimaki: 54 Minutes - 54.3% xGF%
Valimaki - Andersson: 187 Minutes - 51.06 xGF%
Andersson-Kylington: 393 Minutes - 50.7% xGF%
Kylington - Davidson: 51 Minutes - 47.5% xGF%
Valimaki - Stone: 110 Minutes - 46.5% xGF%
Kylington-Stone: 84 Minutes - 33.0% xGF%
Kind of grouped them into the similar groupings. Outside of Valimaki doing a slightly better job of dragging Michael Stone around the ice I don't see much difference between the two guys.
Kylington has received no leash IMO. Valimaki made plenty of mistakes this season and always got another chance. Whenever Kylington makes a mistake he sits the next game.

Yes I agree with a lot of these points. He really hasn't received the same leash as others. I'd still say Andersson and Valimaki are better prospects for the Flames, so best to fully develop those players and give them all the opportunities to succeed.
My main objection currently is the Nesterov versus Kylington debate and I feel Kylington is getting the shaft.
He has only played 6 games to Nesterov's 25. Both aren't putting up great offensive numbers at all, but Kylington is still young and developing. Flames are also 5-0-1 when he's in the lineup. I know a #6 dman doesn't move the needle in that situation, but still.
His corsi stats seem clearly better than Nesterov based on this article below. IMO Flames are a better team with him in the lineup opposed to Nesterov.

Not sure why, but the third straight coach who tends to play him fleetingly. I hope he is able to find a way to work himself into the lineup.

Our transition game has suffered with the loss of Brodie, so we sit the guy who might help.

Why does Winnipeg have an NHL team anyway? I mean really, Winnipeg?
I have told this story before - was at a Flames lunch years ago when Gary Bettman was in town and he was guest speaker.
During the Q&A, dude gets up and says "Mr. Bettman, I am originally from Winnipeg and I would like to know when the NHL will be moving back to Winnipeg?"
Bettman doesn't miss a beat and says "Oh yeah, when are you moving back??"
Room erupted in laughter.

Only because they found a worse NHL city than Winnipeg (twice).

I wasn't going to watch... then Darryl does this and I think... hmmm, I'd like to see how these lines do under Darryl... I feel like this is what Johnny and Monny want... will it make those two better?

I have a weird feeling this is what all the forwards outside of maybe Lindholm wanted.
Feel like Tkachuk and Backlund wanted to play together.
Feels like Gaudreau and Monahan wanted to be with Lindholm.
And I always thought that Bennett wanted the Dube-Lucic-Bennett line together from day one.
i've liked Lindholm at Center, but it's also kind of weird how little we've seen these lines together this year. I get that they wanted to spread out the skill but this is still our best possible top 6, and I'm surprised we didn't see it more even just in the third period when you shorten the bench and we need a goal.
Plus these lines still have success together, even in limited time this year.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm: 32 Minutes - 50.7% Corsi For, 58.5% xGF
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane: 77 Minutes - 58.1% Corsi For, 60.9% xGF
Lucic-Bennett-Dube: 51 Minutes - 54% Corsi For, 49.9% xGF
Like others have said I'm very intrigued to see these lines under Sutter tonight.

I can't help but feel bad for Darryl. Quite a mess to inherit. You can't give players maturity though. They have to decide to grow up and treat their jobs like professionals. Neither can you inject someone with passion and a will to win when they're content with picking up six figure paychecks at the end of the day.
It's up to them to go home, look in the mirror and ask why did I get into pro hockey to begin with and what more do I want out of this career aside from everything money can buy? What does this team and winning mean to me?
Eventually I'd like to think that a group of guys like this would eventually get sick of being ridiculed and pick themselves up off the mat and, to a man, go and do something about it.

Excited to watch tonight. I think we catch the Jets thinking about easy wins tonight.

A few people might start asking questions when they notice the Flames suddenly playing better.

I just noticed the time posted for tonight's game - it says 8pm MST. So, is that 8pm MDT or 7PM MST or whatever the real time is? God, I wish Alberta would stop this stupid time change nonsense twice a year!
