Brutal! The Morning Show has been a staple for me since Richards departed. I always assumed Jay was an architect to the success of that program behind the scenes. On-air he is so sneaky funny, he says very little but when he does it's usually gold. I really hope he received a healthy severance package, he's been there forever.
Andrew Walker was also let go. No more Sarcastic Player Profile.
When I heard the news yesterday I was very curious how Boomer would react, was not expecting him to break down on air. That was rough.

At this rate they'll just have Boomer on for 12 hours a day talking to himself. Dumbass Rogers.

Did they fire the Artist of the Day as well?
Back to semi-generic no lyric music intros now.

I liked the artist of the day thing. Listening to Ratt in the AM is a nice way to start the day.

If I remember correctly, they made mention of it a few months ago and it has something to do with podcast regulations and licensing. Because they are on or trying to get on Spotify, the Artist of the Day portion always had to be cut out of the podcasts. So I think they just started focusing on it less.

I'm listening to the podcast now, you can hear Boomer struggle right away. The man has a big heart and he hates that this has happened

Yeah. I've been a critic, but this totally sucks. I feel confident it's the result of the Covid economy, rather than anyone doing poorly in their performance. What restaurant has extra dollars for AM radio ad buys right now?
I'll continue to listen, and I hope those let go land on their feet. It can be super brutal to lose your employment, but ultimately it can lead to better things in time.
Good luck to Peter, Walker, and Deforest.

What the? Jay Deforest gone? That guy was so good. He kept things from going off the rails and made probably the funniest contributions on that show. Awful. I feel for him. Dude will land on his feet. Terrific talent for that seat.

I will still listen, and the rest of the guys will hold the show up, but Jays well timed humour with clips and when when he spoke on air was a big part of the success of the show, he will be missed. I feel for the guy. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Anyone would be lucky to have him.

This is really disappointing me, I really liked both guys. I actually think peter klien was one of the best personalities on the station and find it terrible they were let go.

They chose to keep Nault of all people.....the leadership group of the Fan 960 must be taking cues from the Flames management group.

Yes I really liked his dry humor, and we just got small doses of him at a time.

No doubt.
How anybody when given the choice would keep Nault over Klein or Deforest is ridiculous.

I don't listen like I used to, as due to my own layoff in late 2018, I now only hear it during my 30 minute commute to work as I'm not a cubicle warrior anymore, but from 2013-2018 that morning show (I'd stream the first 2 hrs I missed in the afternoon) was the highlight of my work day. That stings hearing Jay is gone, and Klein too of course. Both seem like genuinely nice people. Sign of the terrible times we in..

I guess you guys didnt hear Francis at Lunchtime?
Apparently Johnny is the biggest problem on the team, too soft, and has a 5-10% chance of re-signing!
One last thing, Us Flames fans will be disappointed in any trade return!
Boy the guy really has it in for #13.

The best part was him prefacing that with "people think I have it out for him and am trying to drive him out of town" or something like that. Then he proceeds to prove those people right.

Coincidentally, Flames fans have been trying to drive Eric Francis out of town for years but the guy won’t leave.
The guy is a complete moron and knows nothing about the game of hockey, so I don’t take anything he says seriously. I’ll give you guys a recent example. I remember the other day, during the intermission period of one of the Leafs games. He went on about the game being too much of a barn burner for Darryl Sutter’s liking which I thought was silly because the game was anything but a barn burner. The shots and the goals all came from the outside with pucks bouncing in off of skates, backsides and etc. But he then proceeds to ask Darryl about it post game and Darryl shut that notion down completely.
The guy has been watching and analyzing the game for decades and he still knows less about the game then random trolls on the internet. He’s a joke and a hack.
