I have old Beta tapes of Flames games from the 80’s.
One of my favourite Ed Whelan-isms was during a line brawl against Winnipeg.

Paraphrasing. “Loob’s in a fight, he’s really pounding him. Oh, it’s Tim Hunter.”

Saw today that Andrew Walker was shuffled off SN in Vancouver. I know he can get on people’s nerves (I wanted to kill him when I played beer league against him) but he plays the bad guy very well and is has a professional broadcaster skill set.

960 is in dire need of a shuffle. I’d be all for him coming back to 960 to push Streinberg and getting a guy like Nault back behind the console away from and talking part on the station.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Calgary. Boomer and him are very close, and were prior to both being in Calgary.

Always enjoyed Walker. I haven't listened to 960 since COVID don't get my morning commute anymore, but the show was getting stale. I think bringing Walker back would be a good move.

I would love to see Walker back on the morning show with Boomer and Warrener and then move Pinder back to afternoons with Steinberg.

Did SN Vancouver have layoffs or was he fired?

I like Walker, he plays his villain schtick quite well. I think he's who Nault is trying to be similar to, but with way different results. Walker is still easy to listen to, even when he plays up his dbag persona, becuase he can roll with the punches as he gets made fun of. Nault feels like the uncomfortable guy you avoid because he gets super confrontational and awkward to be around if he disagrees with you or feels you're dissing him.

Peter Klein and Jason Deforest let go.

How did Nault survive this?

Deforest let go?? Thats awful. I enjoyed his contributions to that show, and he wasn't even technically on air talent

The essentially lit their morning show on fire. Jason was the only talent there.

Good luck replacing him with similar production value.

Sounds like it was a straight layoff or firing for both stations. I would think Walker would be a transfer if they were bringing him on?

The best part about working from home is not listening to the fan while I drive to & from the office.

Jeezus. Deforest is the glue of that show. One of the best in Canadian sports radio.

No, no, now they can pay him less in Calgary.

Is this a joke? Peter Klein was awesome. Nault literally draws listeners away.

Is this legit? He's worked there for years.. or is this maybe just a shuffle?

Man, that sucks. I feel Deforest is underrated funny, and had a great dynamic with the morning guys.

How the heck did Klein get let go but not Nault? That is a puzzling decision for sure.

Discussed by Steinberg and Nault. Looks like they both were let go, and not reshuffled
