Wow, Dvorak is getting way overvalued here in my opinion.
He is having a bit of a breakout year but he is Arizona's version of Bennett. I wouldn't include any top prospects or Monahan in a proposal for him.

Monahan for Dvorak
Bennett for Debrusk
Gaudreau for Konecny.

We’re giving up the clear best player in at least 2/3 deals.

The contract differences between Gaudreau and Konecny can’t be overstated. And TK has a pretty good PPG comparison over the last two seasons. I watched him last night - he was pretty good in a losing effort.

I would like a + in the Arizona deal but am okay straight up for the other 2. Konecny makes a ton of sense for the Flames now that they made the change to Sutter. They are not rebuilding and need a player that better fits his style.

Lol try again though- Dvorak for Bennett is not at all a wash. Dvorak is way more productive and way less of a defensive burden; no way they make that trade. If im not mistaken, the poster is suggesting something like:

Gaudreau for Konecny
Bennett for Debrusk (actually still good value for us- bennett is terrible)
then Dvorak + for Monahan? but I think we lose this personally.

He puts up a lot more points than Bennett though.

Way more productive is a bit of a misnomer.

To Calgary: Anton Lundell
To Florida: Sean Monahan

Then just call it a day. Florida is after a centre (reported by FourthPeriod). Flames can close the Monahan era, and start with 6.375M of new cap space and a young promising centre.

That would be a deal I would gladly get behind.

Just spitballing here, but I wonder if Florida loads up for a run this year. They have some good prospects (Lundell, Tippett) and a bit of cap space. They could also package Connelly in a cap dump move.

Monahan actually fits in Fla quite well.

To be fair, I have a never ending list of Gaudreau memories of turn-overs and give aways in the neutral zone, offensive zone and defensive zone which have resulted in goals for the other team but seems to be over looked many times because of his offensive potential. I have seen plenty of give aways by everyone, Monahan especially, on this team but there seems to be a lot of confirmation bias when it comes to Lucic.

No, Dvorak has 2 less points in ~120 less games. He is way more productive than Sam Bennett.

Lucic has made 3 really bad ones I can think of. BUT he was trying to turn the puck up ice quickly and sometimes that doesn’t work out, especially because his skill isn’t where it once was. I have a lot more time for bad mistakes based on trying to get something done than a lazy or timid turnover.

The other thing is - whenever I’ve seen Lucic make such a mistake, he works his ass off the rest of the game, and in at least a couple instances, actually did make up for it with a goal of his own. He’s a guy who seems to channel being upset with himself in a good way. Some on the team do the opposite.

Still hasn't broken 40 points in a season. He is a throw in like Bennett in a bigger trade, not a centerpiece for Monahan.

I agree there with the Monahan part, but he's more similar to Mangiapane value wise IMO. Bennett just isn't a comparable, and if you're hoping we're going to get similar value for Bennett, then you are heading for disappointment.

Wonder if you could get Tippett too.

Lundell
Tippett

for

Monahan

A young C and a young RW for Monahan.
