The worst part is that I fully agree Wills was wrong (as usual) but the way Nault approached it was juvenile and seemed petty.

Johnny's sister loathes Francis I assume for how he talks about Johnny, so I'm sure as a family, they've talked about Francis and I'd guess Johnny makes it obvious when they rub into each other.

Yeah, just the difference in professionalism is astounding. Steinberg disagrees with Wills often but keeps it respectful and he goes "here's why that's not true" or whatever. Nault is a bum who talks over everyone aggressively because he seems like one of those "the louder you are the more correct you are" types.

This morning:
Jay: This 80's music is terrible.
Boomer: Gee Jay, you're becoming the Will Nault of the morning show.
I laughed.

Yeah its officially Nault's gimmick and he's leaning into it. Which is a bad thing.

It’s one of those expressions that now has its own meaning. I could care less in fact means that you couldn’t. IMO it’s not the same as say confusing mute with moot.

Yesterdays argument between Wills and Nault was stupid.

Wills offered a genuine opinion, and based it on factual information. Basically said hey if they turn this around in the next week or so, they are only four points back. I might be willing to make a hockey trade, but not for a rental. They are only four points back of MTL who has two games in hand.

Then Nault proceeds to attack him and interrupt him and just be a general dick to him saying things like they aren't 4 points back etc etc.

I don't agree with Wills opinion, but if a hockey trade presents itself he makes a good point. Nault just an idiot and petulant.

All day Calgary sports radio is a blessing and a curse. With no sports radio the scarcity of call in shows and longer sports updates was something to look forward too.

The Sportsnet entities seem to thrive on mediocrity. Calgary once had pros like Maher, Whalen, Van Horne, Mclean, Clemment , Bowmen, Meeker to a later extent, Neale, Peplinski Garret. I'd take any of those guys over the current bunch, even Doug Barkley, Mike Rogers or even Don Whitman. Calgary Media is like the C list of talent. I find myself watching the other teams feeds, or volume muted as the current crews are unwatchable, even the Pacific feed was better vs Nucks. Lord help us.

Jim Van Horne was once in Calgary local media? Interesting, I didn't know that

One of the great 'staches in Calgary sports media history along with Mr. Whalen of course.

HM to Ron Manz.

And is actually the exact same as "I could literally eat a horse right now" when in all intents and purposes people mean figuratively. Why do we always have to change the meaning because people are idiots!

Was Loubo on at noon today for his regular segment? YES.
Was his first statement a question to himself? YES.
Did I find it ear-bleedingly irritating and instantly change the channel? YES.
Will I completely stop listening to the FAN after the Rintoul show ends from now on? YES.

Between Loubo and Nault, I can no longer stomach it and fight through in hopes to hear some mediocre radio coverage. I'll continue to thoroughly enjoy the Morning Show, and listen to Pinder in the 9 and also Rintoul, but that's it.

Kirsche, do something, you're losing listeners.

IIRC he hosted Flames broadcasts on Channel 2/7. I believe he was succeeded by Ron MacLean. Good run there.

Nault was right. Wills was wrong.

BUT, Nault lost all semblance of being right by acting like an idiot.

"Durrrr You're dumb"

"Would you please let me finish what i'm saying"

was the pinnacle of Nault and Wills

And very difficult for the rest of us to listen to

Pep was pretty bad and IMO Ed Whelan was much better at Stampede Wresting than he was Flames play by play, especially in his later years. Having said that, I'd trade all those guys for today's locals save for maybe Ball and Hrudey. I do still enjoy Boomer's morning show, as long it's hockey season and the Flames are still playing. After that, it's podcast season.

Ha ha ha Lubo is doing Lubo things again asking questions about Gaudreau and answering them. I have to say I'm finding him more amusing in a comedic role. I will say he's being unusually negative towards Gaudreau today. Kirsch is kind of doing a good job being the straight man.

Ed Whalen was occasionally unintentionally funny. Sometimes he would confuse players names/numbers. I remember he would call out Otto's name when it was Nieuwendyk or vice versa. Sometimes a player would dump it in for a change and he would shout "He shoots it just wide of the net!" Little things like that. I found them amusing. He wasn't perfect and I didn't go about complaining on social media because it didn't affect my life (and there was no social media).
