He's awful in his daily noon segment and I'm not overly critical of the 960 guys. They need to get him off the airwaves for anything but games. There's a guy at work a few cubes down that asks me to turn it down everyday he comes on and I don't even have it loud but his voice travels.

They are both terrible. Wills in my opinion is unlistenable as a PBP guy, grating voice and some terrible takes. Nault, is straight out unprofessional a lot of the time, keep your personal life out of your work life. If that's a problem...take a leave and get yourself sorted.

I’ve been kind of following this one for a bit, and have to agree. Not usually one to put negativity out but hopefully this gets some play with the station. Nault is so terrible and his takes are just wrong. He’s a dud. And how we go from Peter Maher to Derek Wills is just beyond me. I used to listed to flames games on the radio religiously. I even did corporate advertising with Fan960. Now, I’d pay a subscription somewhere else if there was a local radio broadcast of the Flames games. Long story short, my Fan 960 listening is way down to just recorded interviews and if I listen live, I tune out the second Nault or Wills start chiming in on anything. Sure, what does that matter in the grand scheme, but it sounds like I’m not alone!

Yeah I used to listen to the Fan constantly during the week, gameday or not.

Nault and Pinder especially have sucked out all enjoyment from listening to Flames talk. I haven't listened to more than a minute combined of the Fan daytime shows all season as a result.

Gotta say--have to side with Wills on this one.

It seems that the younger guys on that show tend to disrespect Wills for whatever reason. Today, Wills had seemingly had enough. Nault was being a doofus and Wills just wanted to finish his thought. So he told Nault as much. More power to Wills, as far as I'm concerned...

I'm likely in the minority about this, but I don't mind Wills as PBP. Us Flames fans were unbelievably spoiled to have known nothing other than the absolute best in the game in Peter Maher. NOBODY was going to fill that man's shoes.

With that in mind, I don't mind Wills' cadence, or his idiosyncrasies. He's unique and I think that he forms a good team with Loubo.

Anyway, nothing wrong with some passionate and argumentative radio, once in a while. Ultimately, if the Flames showed 1/10th as much heart about the season as the guys on today's drive home show did, we wouldn't be having the discussions we're having.

I used to relentlessly listen as well.

Now I could care less. With the lazy predictable assessments & conversations they pump I don’t even have to listen.

I know what they will talk about.

It’s a complete waste of time. My energy is better spent elsewhere.

Listened to a recorded segment this afternoon, an interview with Steven Brunt. Talked about Jays, Raptors and boxing. If the 960 wants to be successful, they really need to lean into this a bit more. There are a lot of potential repeat interviewees in various markets that they can tap into. You can't tell me that there isn't a former NBA player trying to get into the New York radio market, that can come on and talk intelligently about the trade deadline, and commentary throughout the playoffs. I'm not even a big basketball fan, but there are still engaging stories there.

And baseball is all about the stories. There are analysts all over North America with cool little tales that can be rolled into present tense useful information.

Oldtimer hockey stories. Players talk about a favorite current player, and then break down their on ice play over the last season while sprinkling in little memories about bygone eras.

None of this could really be that expensive.

Monahan is a shadow of his former self but he has 20 points and the Flames are 4 points back. Nault is so condescending...he wants the teams PBP guy to come on the radio and say "don't bother listening anymore seasons over, 4 points is the new 100 points"

Its a ####ing fact the Flames are four points back...the Media didn't mind getting on the Oilers are in first place bandwagon when they had played a handful more games.

Stupid Flames win some facking games, imagine Nault's take if they went on a streak and made it.

But the two of them arguing and wills pulling the “can you just let me finish making my point” (which was nothing new) was just brutal... your job is to talk on the radio and discuss and argue, and if the two of them can’t figure it out then get them off the air.

I like Wills and Loubo on the game broadcast. They’re pretty good IMO. In between the games unfortunately they add very little and shouldn’t be brought in for any kind of analysis. I haven’t heard the Nault explosions so I don’t really mind the guy.

I like Pinder personally. He’s one of the reasons I listen. Steinberg too.
