#### happens...if the top players were scoring it wouldn't have been 1-1

The core of this team just isn’t good enough.

The time to blow it up is years overdue and Treliving should not be around to see it.

Everyone needs to calm down about Valimaki.

He is only going to get better, let him play, learn and grow.

I don't remember anyone saying it would "make them winners".
But maybe you did its possible. My recollection is that they wanted that crossed off the reasons that the team was poor, moving forward.
And now we have a huge amount of apologists for the GM who placed all these players.

I'd trade the entire team to Seattle for the opportunity pick a squad through expansion.

It was clear even before they fired Ward. But they needed to make a coaching change regardless.

It eliminates the question on how certain players would play under good coaching. Now whoever is GM can start making changes and not have to worry about if they have a good enough coach.

True. But Sutter also coaches them to clamp down in the last minutes, and they just didn’t.

I assume he is a good assistant GM. But he doesn't know much about actual hockey things.

Keep in mind, Buffalo has a number 1 centre and potential/current dman though.

Regardless, both teams are bottom feeders. If the Flames were in that same division as the Sabres, I highly doubt they would be fare much better.

Imagine 4 years ago hearing that Milan Lucic would be arguably the best player on the Flames

It's time to strip the C from Giordano.

I just haven't liked Giordano as the captain for the last 2 seasons.

Been one of the worst performers. How can someone playing poorly outside of the once in a blue moon game when he decides to play mad lead your group to success?

Prioritizing character like this management group has does well for our press conferences but not our on ice performance.

Wait 10 games.

Did you see any reason to believe the Flames could beat anybody in their division? Sure, lots of shots directly at the goalie. Unless they play a game where the other teams goalie is allergic to rubber, they won’t score more than 2 fluke goals. Do you see a defensive responsible team that could limit any team to less than 2 goals on a consistent basis?

This team is garbage.

When the analysis is pretty evenly divided between whether the players or the coach are to blame, then the answer is obvious: fire the GM.

I hear you, but I’m still keeping Marky and the young D core.... and Mange has a ton of upside. Plus you need guys like Tanev and Lucic in the room.

I think people underestimate how changing one core piece can drastically alter a team.

Gaudreau won't do what it takes to win. Getting him away from the team may be enough of a shakeup.

Let's also not pretend that Markstrom wasn't the second best goalie tonight. He has plain not been good enough since he came back from Injury.
