Sens have allowed 3+ goals in nine straight games and they haven't shut anybody out all year. (They also haven't been shut out, themselves. Looks like Calgary might be twice in a row in 20 minutes' time).

Last time they allowed fewer than three goals in a game was on March 1, when they won 5-1 over... Calgary. Because of course.

Monahan clubbed the play but it wasn’t a wide open shooting chance and there was no winger anywhere near closing on the goal. There was a D in front of him and his flub was in overthinking whether to try and deke around, look for a pass (and there really wasn’t one) or just get it deep. There was no shot, really.

Surely they would be confident and determined, since it’s the Flames.. As it’s not like they have elite offensive weapons to face or many players who will screen/crash. Not even a bomb from the point. No one timer threats. It’s a goalies dream.

A goalie would have had to work to *not* save that one
I've seen worse chances go in...it's a turnover to a wide open guy in the slot. Markstrom likely wasn't expecting his Dman to pass the puck up the middle to the other team with 17 seconds left.

We're outshooting them 26-16, and their goalie is starting his first ever NHL game tonight. We're losing 1-0 going into the third.

At this point in time, I would literally trade every last one of them for draft picks.

Again, the TSN interview between periods with Gord Miller used on Sportsnet. So odd.

Yes, timely save. Markstrom on the ball, in good position

Poorly placed shot. Easy save.

This definitely is not the worst game as a team. But for #23 and #13 and #19 this is probably one of their worst outing.

This Flames team is woefully under skilled, built upon a weak core, and has exceptionally poor centre depth.
But unfortunately, like the Islanders, Golden Knights, Bruins and Blues we have not had a pick in the top 3 in the past 10 years, so it is tough to build a good core without that level of a pick.

Speaking of game breaking talent I was curious when the last time Johnny had a minimum 3 point game (a game where he really broke it open by himself).

Beginning of last season, October 5th, 2019 - 1G 2A against VAN.

In the 2018-19 season alone he had 10, including four 4 point games and one 6 point game.

The first line is an issue, but the second line isn't doing much more. Leivo scored two goals in Sutter's first win.

Tkachuk has had multiple chances/good plays

Imagine struggling this much to score against a bottom feeding team.

Oh, oops, I guess it is possible to build very good teams without top picks in the past decade.
