With tonight's win, the red snake is 3.536 points below the black line. It has reached the halfway mark of 66 points, but it took 55.3% of the games to get there. It is currently on pace for 60 points. It requires a record of 16-8-1 over the remaining 25 games in order to finish at 66 points. That is a 1.320 PPG pace, which equates to 741 points in a 56 game season or 108 points in an 82 game season. The quickest the red snake could move above the black line is by winning the next 5 games.
Geoff Ward:
24 points in 24 games. 1 point per game average. 56 point pace. 4.286 points below the black line.
Ryan Huska:
1 point in 2 games. 0.5 points per game average. 28 point pace. 1.357 points below the black line.
Darryl Sutter:
8 points in 5 games. 1.6 points per game average. 90 point pace. 2.107 points above the black line.

Because every game is a division game this season, it's hard to predict the number of points needed to qualify. Between April 14 and 26 the Flames play Montreal 5 times and Ottawa twice. 7 Games in 12 days, if the flames minimum win 4 against Montreal and 1 against Ottawa they will make the playoffs. If they win 2 or fewer against Montreal they are done, pretty much regardless of how everything else goes.
There is still a Vancouver problem, but I still think turn this win streak around soon.

This is because the graph is based on needing 66 pts-a 0.589 record.
For a win or loss to impact the graph equally, it would need to assume a 0.500 record (historically, a 0.500 record isn't enough to make the playoffs).

What you are discussing is the exact opposite point of why the snake was invented. The spirit of the snake is that if you get to 96 points you will make the playoffs, no matter what anyone else does. No Western conference team has reached 96 points and missed the playoffs. Hit 96 and you don't have to watch what any other team does. As this season is only 56 games, 96 was changed to 66. It does not matter if those wins are against Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Winnipeg, just get to 66 and you should be in. If you'll notice I never mention which teams the Flames beat or how they got the points. It's only about getting enough points to get above the black line. Opponents, sportsclubstats, power rankings, etc. have no place here.
As such, you are awarded one punch in the taint.

66 points in 56 games is about 1.179 points per game. Each loss drops it 1.179 points below, or towards the black line if the red snake is above it. Each win gains 0.821 points towards the black line if it's below it. Even an OT/SO loss will have it lose ground. If the Flames alternated wins and losses, they would end the season at 56 points, which is below the black line of 66 points.

Some scientist on Bill Nyes podcast this week was talking about how a large taint was correlated with high sperm counts, and good health. Everything else she said sounded like she was reaching beyond what the evidence said, but please enjoy my giant taint while you punch me in it.

If they can maintain the pace they're on with Sutter, they'll finish with 73 points. That's kind of hopeful.
There are also five games against Montreal next month, and four more games against Vancouver. Hopefully they can bring the real pace needed for fourth place below the black line's cutoff of 66.

The phrase "enjoy my giant taint" is going to haunt my thoughts for weeks.

Did they mention a correlation between good health and willingness to accept punches to the taint?

Two wins in a row? I know the snake has been taking a beating lately, but may the snake rise again.

If the Flames go 14-0-0 the red snake finishes 1 point above the black line.
